GossipCop HollywoodLife has been responsible for some (ahem) dubious posts about Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.  This one might take the cake, and it manages to be as off putting as it is off base.

After another site circulated a photograph (from behind) of a half-dressed couple brushing their teeth and speculated about whether it could be Robsten, HollywoodLife jumped in with both feet.

“Who else could make preventing plaque into a moody, sexy pas de deux? Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, of course!” declares the outlet.“Even though it’s only a pic of their behinds, we’d recognize those rears anywhere!” reports HollywoodLife.

Really? Here’s a tip to police departments across the country – never let HollywoodLife try to pick someone out of a lineup.

Because we checked with several sources in the know, and no one can verify that the couple is actually Pattinson and Stewart.  It seems especially improbable given that the exact same picture was posted to Flickr – back in December 2009 – by this photographer.

But the fact that HollywoodLife laughably claims to “recognize those rears” isn’t even the most shameful part of the post. That would be the site’s gleeful endorsement of privacy invasion.

“We were thrilled that fans went to great lengths to take pics of R-Patz and K-Stew in their bathing suits while filming in Brazil, along with the photo of the lovebirds on the balcony of their hotel room,” buzzes HollywoodLife.

“But if this picture turns out to be Rob and Kristen, it’s officially the hottest shot yet!” Um, no. If the shot had been Pattinson and Stewart, it would mean someone snapped a picture of them, in their underwear, from close range, without their knowledge.

That isn’t “hot.” That’s creepy.

And it’s exactly the sort of boundary crossing that makes celebrities like the Twilight stars so deeply – and justifiably – uncomfortable with aspects of their fame.

I only posted this because I have been receiving 4-5 inquiries a day since it came out.  This is the girl's Flicker account as proof. 

Also, that Breaking Dawn underwater  photo, that is going the rounds is also not them, its Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood from  'Across the Universe'  Ok, that's that! Phew!
