The 'On The Road' Cast: Singing Voices

Thanks madstone92. This is just too cool...

1. Sam Riley - "Isolation" from the movie Control (2007)
2. Garrett Hedlund - "Chances Are" from the movie Country Strong (2011)
3. Kristen Stewart - "Angels from Montgomery" from the movie Into the Wild (2007)
4. Viggo Mortensen -
5. Amy Adams - "If I Didn't Care" from the movie Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day
6. Terrence Howard - "Love Makes You Beautiful"
7. Kirsten Dunst - "Dream of Me"

For those who are new to the fandom, here's Kristen singing (from the above audio clip) with Emile Hirsch from 'Into The Wild'

Question: are they singing in the movie? is that is why this was put together? Don't get me wrong..its pretty cool but it doesn't sound like anything of them sing in the book so I was just wondering....

S,I love it too!Wow..haven't seen Into the Wild in a few years...love love Kristen's soulful voice in this song..no wonder Rob fell for her after this movie. Love when actors are also so creative with art or music.

Hmmm is that Rob Pattinson playing the guitar and singing with her?

I've heard this song before and I don't know if I said this on here or if it was somewhere else but she sounds like Sheryl Crow.

@Angela Its from the movie 'Into The Wild'

@Anon 12.38 No, she was playing the guitar herself.

@Canadiangirl The answer is no, this was just totally random.

Oooh yes, love Garrett's voice so much that I bought both soundtracks to Country Strong; he is a natural and sooo sexy.....and I love the sound of Kristen's voice, so pretty and clear, just love it! Really cool to hear all of them sing from their various projects; OTR def. has a talented cast!

@Anon 12:38 As S. indicated, Kristen was playing the guitar herself. The male voice is that of Emile Hirsch, the central character in "Into the Wild." If you go to YouTube, I believe you can find the clip from the film that shows the full scene where they sing this song. "Angels" is a beautiful song, and I thought Kristen and Emile's version was heartbreakingly good--unfortunately, it wasn't included in the film's soundtrack.
I am a newbie here (since the past few weeks). Kudos to you, S., on this excellent site. Your hard work in editing out the superfluous and posting the positive is so very much appreciated!

S(or anyone else?)..was looking up certain singers I don't know..like Jenny Lewis/Shins (both great!)and I can't remember the name of a female folk singer that Rob/Kristen(?) has said he/she likes(is a friend too I think)from UK (think R&K went to her concert a few times..sounds like a regular name and not super famous yet. THANKS for the help (sorry unrelated to post except it's about music)! A poster said the name a few posts back when they were talking about Kristen and if she likes Taylor Swift based on her love of other alternative music (looked but can't find it!).

@BesideYou You might be referring to Laura Marling, check her out.

Hey S..THANK YOU(!!!)that's it(now it won't bother me all day)! I will check her out! Love the vid clip from Into the Wild(makes me want to rent it again)!

AWESOME! I am somewhat new to the fandom (started around June 2010) but I have rented or bought everyone of Kristen's movies. I really wish the one she did for Into the Wild was on a soundtrack, I also LOVE her singing I Love Playing With Fire for the Runaways. She rocked that song, I tried to buy it off I tunes from the soundtrack but it wasn't on there either :(

I used to think DMB's cover of "Angel from Montgomery" was my favorite until I saw "Into the Wild." I LOVE Kristen's voice. Surprise! ;)

@Beside You - I think S is right about that. It's really funny because Kristen has almost the exact same taste in music as me/vice versa, so I'm totally biased, but any time she mentions a band or a singer, definitely check it out cuz it's probably awesome! Ha ha :) I so wish I could to talk to her about music! Sigh <3

It's been awhile since I've seen Into the Wild and I had forgotten what a pure, beautiful voice Kristen has. Isn't this movie where Rob first saw Kristen? No wonder he had a crush on her.

I agree Kristen voice is like an angel pure and beautiful and I think Garrett's voice is very good for country, nice job

Garrett is in the wrong profession with a voice like that...deep, sexy and country.

My first comment didn't make it but thank you, S. This scene of Kristen in Into the Wild is my absolute fave. I'm sure there are more to come. Kristen sang a beautiful song beautifully and I think this is where Rob fell in love with her. I didn't think anyone could compare to Bonnie Raitt's version, but IMO, Kristen does. Beautiful voice, beautiful person.

Kristen has such great taste in music that she's opened up a whole new music scene for me.
