MTV After Paul Giamatti, admitted he was "not sure" when production on "Cosmopolis" would come together, there was one thing that was certain: he'd get to work with the "dreamiest man alive."
"I get to stalk him," a deadpan Giamatti said of getting to work on a set with R-Pattz. While Giamatti (who also divulged to MTV about his part in the highly anticipated "Hangover 2") said he hasn't yet met Pattinson he claimed (though quite possibly tracing the slightest hint of sarcasm there) to have seen the "Twilight" films.
As Pattinson explained to MTV News recently, he signed onto the project "basically because of Cronenberg." "I said yes as soon as he called," he added. "It's scary, though. It's an interesting script."

me too! i'm so happy he's gonna work with Rob. some people were saying that he left the project once he heard about Rob casting, now we know it's not true! who won't like to work with this beautiful person? we love you Rob!!!

Also I have a question because I'm pretty ignorant about Cronenberg! Is he such a great director? I don't know any of his movies, only "A Dangerous Method", the one with Keira.
And S I saw Black Swan today... oh my God!! I was literally shaking at the end!! It was amazing!! And Natalie... no words... the Oscar is hers, hands down!! Although I wasn't exactly partial to the creepy and bloody parts but other than that it was perfect!!
I love Paul Giamatti...he is such a good actor. I am glad he is still in this with Rob.
I'm glad that Paul will still be in this movie.And this will be a good project for Rob also.
I am so absolutely THRILLED about this project! i mean Rob and Paul G && possibly Keira Knightley directed by the King David Cronenberg!! this just keeps getting better. i am so anxious to see the result of all this talent put together.

@Jess Yes, Cronenberg is pretty awesome in my book. I particularly like M.Butterfly, A History of Violence, and Dangerous Method. His projects are always a mix of horror and science fiction. I also notice his films' to be character driven. You need to check him out.

Great news! Paul has done something that most character actors never seem to accomplish (sadly)...he's known not just by his body of work,or his face, but now he is known by his name as well! I'm really glad to hear he and Rob will be working together.
Ooh actually I know A History Of Violence, just by name though, I haven't seen it! But I can't say I'm a fan of horror and science fiction, but it won't hurt to check these films out too right? :)

God girls I saw the trailer!!!! OMG I cannot believe I actually saw it on the big screen. It looked amazing I mean he looked amazing. It is January and it won't be out in my country befor early May what were the odds? But they showed it and I totally flipped. I coudn't hold my tears because it was so beyond awesome, nothing like my pc screen, The music,his face, the coulors, his face,the circus,his face, Tai,his face, OMG how I am gonna sleep tonight?

I finally saw "Black Swaw" and I agree if Natalie doesn't win the Oscar I'll be surprised...the mental anguish,attention to detail and flawless performance...love the directing too! Plus the biggest bonus was Rob on the big screen...couldn't help thinking he really belongs on the big screen...computers do not do his beauty/expressions justice. Cosmopolis (glad Paul is part of this project to add some realism/grounding)is a crazy read...I'll be surprised if it's all part of the movie:

Anyway, I'm still reading and it is really entertaining classic man written stuff (lots of sex and power/money driven thoughts).... reminds me of what Rob said in the "Remember Me" premiere in London to SkyNew(they were asking about certain Great Britain politics and the reporter said only if Rob could bottle this adoration)..Rob said if he could be president he would LOVE IT because he would wield a lot of power..I'm paraphasing something like that anyway...he was sort of joking but I was surprised at his answer and now thinking.. a lust for power is so similiar to Georges DuRoy and interesting themes to explore..

oops..should have fact checked myself first...@the London premiere of "Remember Me" Rob just said "he would LOVE to be in the running for PRIME MINISTER" and was JOKING as usual!!!Nothing about wielding power (don't know where I came up with that.. it's been awhile since I saw the clip..LOL that's how rumors start!).
Yay! Guess those film bloggers who said Paul left the project because of Rob were wrong. I just knew he was still in the project :)) I'd can't wait to see what they have to say now about it now lol. So happy for Rob and Paul is an amazing actor. I'd loved in The Illusionist and Sideways. This is great news.
So glad Paul Giamatti put the rumors to rest and will in fact be working with Rob. Paul's performance as John Adams was award-winning in every sense of the word. He is a funny guy in interviews too--very dry wit. I think he & Rob will have a great time.
I hope this does end up coming together. It was almost like Paul was not for sure - I know he said not sure when but that makes me worry it won't but will just hope it does. I have seen directors talk about projects and then they never come about but sure it probably will. I think it would be a good project for Rob. If good script, and good cast (other then Rob of course), and directed well, might be a career changer for Rob because I know he will do an excellent job at the part and will be so different then Twilight that it should show any doubters (non-fan doubters I mean).
@BesideYou You're not too off-based. I think Rob was asked in a Twilight interview about a supposed quote that he wanted to be George Bush. Rob said something like he didn't remember saying that but he wouldn't mind being president--he was rooting for Arnold Swartzeneggar to change the rule about US born only. When asked why, he said something about wanting to be the most powerful person in the world or something like that.

I finished Cosmopolis recently and I think it's a complicated read unless you really know the business, banking, stock market well. And you're right that female employee's whole encounter was bizarre. The whole water bottle- arousal-rectal exam--WEIRD. Also couldn't believe the outcome was disclosed so early.
@Misty Yep, just finished reading the book early this week, too. Its a a different experience tbh. I just cant wait to read the script and check out how Cronenberg's screenplay handled those weird scenes.

Hi BesideYou! Glad you finally got to see Black Swan...told ya it was intense huh?!lol..I left the theater feeling totally drained that night..Natalie & Mila really put themselves out there & gave some of the best performances throughout the movie! Of course one of the best parts of the night was seeing Rob in that WFE trailer--OH MY!!--I could almost reach out & just touch his face, I sat so close to that big beautiful screen, awesome, haha. I love the book so much that to see this come to life w/Rob & Reese is fantastic! & that song by Barcelona is to die for..I adore it! CANNOT WAIT to see WFE! Loved Paul Giamatti in Sideways & can't wait to see he & Rob together in Cosmopolis! HUGS...

Hi Malia...Agree.. yeah you were right..intense and definitely putting themselves out there!....WFE looks so so good...I gasped a few times at my fav parts of the trailer..how can I love the trailer this much!
I had the US trailer and I'm in Canada and @Malia and you had the international trailer and I thought you were in Hawaii? I like the international trailer a bit better with the Barcelona song and different clips!
