Every time I see that written, in whatever way, it brings a lump into my stomach as I feel Rob was robbed by the critics of what should have been a massive hit film. RM so did not get its due. While about 70% or so of the critics may have panned it, the rest and more than 70% of the public who saw it, loved it. I read several reviews who thought it was offensive, but I didn't see it as offensive at all. I saw it as symbolic and even as a tribute. I thought it was beautiful and beautifully acted. The performances all around were A+ and the story was poetic.

Critics' opinions are just that, and we all know everyone has one. Not going to see a movie just because a critic didn't like it is, IMO, just plain dumb, like lemmings walking off a cliff. I think if a movie's story, or the movie's stars, appeal to you, go see it. And blog your own opinion if you want.

Rob will get his due soon, probably in WFE. The non-Twi public will see. This new starring role is incredible. His performance will carry the whole thing being inside a limo. Wow. Go, Rob! I'm now looking forward to this Rob movie most of all.; January 7, 2011 11:26 PM

The shooting haven't started yet, but the news already spread. Speaking about teen, I have a Facebook friend who still in high school and she's disappointed she can't watch Bel Ami because she's under age *grins*

I think young girls are more prone to appreciate an actor for his good looks than his actual acting ability. SW said...: @aimzers; I totally agree with you....I also believe there are a lot more teens out there fan girling for Taylor (but yes, of course, so many teens faint at just the thought of Rob, who doesn't, lol).
But I think the younger girls might be more in to Rob as Edward, and they are in love with Edward, but in real life they might prefer Taylor, because he has that easy-going smiling personality.
While Rob can be a little bit more complex in his real life personality. This might be more appreciated by a little bit older/mature audience.
As for me, I'm close to 30, and I would pick Rob over Taylor any day!! Can't say that a 6 pack is what makes me melt, I prefer Rob's witty and smart personlity (and yes, of course his face could move mountains! lol); January 8, 2011 3:24 AM

He's also intelligent, sweet, and an incredible actor. He has a wonderful girlfriend with the same qualities, and who seems to really know how great he is. He is intelligent, he's trying different roles and is an amazing musician also. And the best: he tries hard to live not as a celebrity, but as a real person, and doens't like to be in the spotlight all the time. For these things, paps and celebrity mags don't like him. And those supid critics can't stand that someone can be handsome, intelligent and a good actor as well. So, as S. says, haters to the left!

RobStenation said...: @Anon 11.50 For one Rob's camp has not confirmed anything yet, though I think this is already in the bag. So if there's anything up, filming info whatever, you'll find it here. I usually do not withheld info. :) If you will scroll down to the first Cosmopolis post- Reuters mentioned production will probably start mid-May, possibly in Vancouver. Dan said...: Some people will always focus on the negative, no matter what. Sarah thinks that Robert Pattinson is an excellent actor and I must agree. He and Kristen are very, very talented and because of their current twilight roles their skills get really underestimated by some groups of people. Good thing is, they just do not seem to care about all this baseless criticism. They sign up for roles they can really appreciate for themselves and not to please the mainstream.

Good idea twilightnan, Karina, and everyone getting the book. I need to order mine, too, and get to reading up on the new movie. I loved WFE and I love it when movies are made of great books. I think it gives the movie more depth when you have that background info going in. Plus you're more invested after having spent the time to read the book.
