It's hard for me to believe that I only discovered Twilight in March 2010 and only found S and Robstenation this fall. It amazes me how much it has become part of my day to day life. Perhaps the greatest impact has been the number of books I read this year that can be traced back to me first picking up Twilight. Since having kids, I was out of the loop as to what good fiction was out there. Not that Green Eggs & Ham and Is Your Mama a Llama aren't great, but I needed something for the grownup me. Being a bit of a prude, I was getting tired of randomly picking books only to be turned off by sexually explicit scenarios, violence against women, missing children, super foul language, etc. So I decided to see what all the hype around this YA novel called Twilight was about. Well from page one I was hooked. And the rest as they say is history. Not only has Twilight opened up the world of YA fiction, I have read a number of books as a result of Kristen and Rob being avid readers and mentioning some of their projects and favorites.
This year's reading list consisted of:
Twilight
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn
Wuthering Heights (Have to admit it was not an easy read)
East of Eden (One of Kristen's favorites and now Number one best book of all time for me. And I never would have found it had it not been for Kristen because I really disliked Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath and probably never would have picked up on of his books again)
Bel Ami (really enjoyed and confirmation that sometimes cheaters do win)
The Ballad of the Sad Cafe (Rob gave to Oprah--have to admit it was just okay)
On the Road (Read it twice and am still struggling with the appeal--if someone could offer insight to help me that would be great)
Water for Elephants (Loved, loved, loved, and led me to what I'm currently reading Ape House by the same author which so far is great too)
Who knew a film series and some movie stars would ignite my passion for reading again?
So I was thinking in addition to the knitting club how about adding a Robsten book club to the mix in 2011?

What an amazing year it has been for Rob and Kristen and also for us Robsten fans. 2010 was a year for them to just live life together, happily and more relaxed. We've got to see them kiss,cuddle,hold hands,pose together on the red carpet,and go on numerous dates together, plus the many other heartwarming things they've done that we've got to see. And in doing so we know and they know, how much they love each other. I hope 2011 will be a prodigious, happy,and love-infested year for Robsten, in which we Robsten fans can just marvel and enjoy in what they do.
In my country clocks just rang 12 o'clock. And I'm sitting here, on Robstenation.

Also, their generousity. I was totally converted when I viewed the film of Kristen getting out of a car and running to meet the girls in Berlin. She was so sweet and generous with them. Is it possible for me to be a fan of your amazing blog site, and the many followers, but hate the moniker "Robsten"? They have real names and identities, just my personal issue. I'll still come here for sure, but kind of makes me feel creepy/uncomfortable with that name...they're two separate, wonderful people who happened to have fallen for each other and are carrying on a model, true relationship, beyond all odds, and I just hate cheapening it with a Pop culture/Hollywood driven nomenclature. That's how much I care about them, so don't shoot me!

to anon 2:44 I read your post and just had to respond. I am happy to hear that you have found reading a pleasure and thanks to Rob and Kristen and Twilight that you have become a reader again. If you like YA you might like the Mortal Instruments series. I highly recommend it. it's not really like Twilight but there are vampires, werewolves and the like plus romance. The Hunger Games is another series that is very good.

@Anon10:43 Thanks for the recommendations. I have heard a lot about The Hunger Games. Don't know if I could handle the subject matter of kids fighting to the death. Katniss is only a few years older than my oldest and I have trouble separating my feelings on things like that. Maybe I'll have Hubby read it first. I often ask him to read books I enjoyed so we can talk about it (He's read all Twilight & WFE for me) and even read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo first to see if I could handle it (rape & violence against women are other hot buttons for me--so obviously his answer was a resounding "no,you won't like it"--although he thought it was a good read). He asked me to read I am Number 4 because he enjoyed it and I found it to be pretty good (didn't know it was going to be a movie). I have to admit I'm not a huge vampire fan--don't watch any of the current vamp shows, never read Anne Rice or saw her movie. Besides Twilight the only other vampire thing I ever saw was "Lost Boys". I did however enjoy reading Shiver and Linger by Maggie Stiefvater which coincidentally is about werewolves.
Just curious, does anyone know the title of the red book Rob was carrying around the WFE's set?

2011 has finally arrived. kinda saddens me to say aloha to 2010.
2010 was full of many trials and tribulations for me. but robstenation was the place where i found peace & comfort. the many breakthroughs we saw from rob & kristen really made my days worth getting up for. its crazy, but honestly very true.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you ROBSTEN. believe it or not, you are the very two people in hollywood who i cannot wait to see continue to leave your mark wherever you go. let go, and take care of each other like you two continue to do.

So Happy New Year S and every Kristen & Rob fans! I hope all of you had an awesome NYE's party - mine was very fun ;) - and that everything goes well in 2011. I bet it will be another epic Robsten year, with several R/K movies and plenty of love to witness. It would be perfect if the stupid haters could disappear with their drama & bullshit ha!
I also wish lots of happiness, love and interesting projects to work on for R & K. Hopefully they will keep on living the time of their lives and will eventually get the privacy & peace they ask for & deserve - although they already have amazing ninja skills teehee!
And last but not least, thank you S for the updates on the best Robsten blog out there, may it continue for a loooong time :)
Hey S...I'm late too...THANK YOU for this lovely blog and for your tireless effort!!!! R&K have touched my heart in such a positive way! Wishing them peace and happiness in 2011!!!
Also thanks to the very lovely and thoughtful people on this blog!! So happy to share in this R&K love and agree with you Misty...has reminded me about my love of reading(I have read everything you have except reading East of Eden now).
