Kristen Stewart maintains that her nerves never went away while shooting "On the Road," an adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel that readers have been obsessed with — and highly protective of — since its 1957 publication.
Nervous she may have been, but co-star Amy Adams — a two-time Oscar nominee — came away from the project seriously impressed by her fellow actor.
"She's awesome," Adams said of KStew. "I knew she had chops. I've seen her since 'Panic Room.' I thought she was fantastic. I feel like she's grown up onscreen. She was great in 'Into the Wild.' The girl's got some chops."
Like Stewart, who dubbed the small-scale production "wild," Adams reveled in the highly creative experience that director Walter Salles ("The Motorcycle Diaries") created on set. "We had a lot of time with each other and a lot of play, a lot of freedom," she explained.
Adams plays Jane, the drug-addicted wife of Old Bull Lee (Viggo Mortensen), a character said to be based on author William S. Burroughs. "On the Road" was her first project after giving birth to her daughter in May, and she thrust herself into the role.
"The character I played required me to be in such a haze," she explained. "My experience is very tactile — very damp and very hot. I was so in that character."
Adams credits Salles with allowing her to dive so deeply into the character and for letting the cast "play" so openly both in front of the camera and when shooting would wrap each day. Since most of her scenes are with Mortensen, it was during production downtime that she got to know Stewart.
"She's just really sweet," Adams said.

Amy Adams is so sweet. Anyone for Panic Room 2? I'm hoping for a sequel.
I miss Kristen:-(
funny it seems the word EVERYONE uses to describe kristen is "sweet". hmmmm. i think that speaks volumes.
she is truly a wonderful, kind, amazing girl.
It's always nice to hear R&K's co-stars say so many great things about each of them. It not only speaks of their fantastic acting skills, but most of all their character. They're both so lovable & down-to-earth. Loved Amy in "Enchanted"--sweet! HUGS ALL!
i dunno...i get tired of people saying the same thing about kristen..very safe answers and seems to me that they kinda include her in the conversation just to make it more interesting or for fans to listen. yes she's sweet, yes she's really nice, yes she has the chops (of course! that's why she's an actress). ive heard it before. yes it makes the fans say 'aaawwwww! she'sooo nice". i still have to hear from someone who can really describe her without being 'too generic' (yes i wanna hear the good and bad of it) or without milking her popularity just for the sake of the movie.
@7:19
So when Reese basically said the same thing over and over about Rob. (ie he's handsome, he's nice.) That would be milking it too right?
Why is it fans are always harder on Kristen's costars & friends? Double Standard.
Why is there a need to compare R/K's co-stars comments? I don't get it. Shunning drama-tainted/double standard comments...
Oh, I never get tired of hearing compliments of Kristen. I think those who make the good comments are sincere. Many of them are not just some generic comments. I mean somehow you can distinguish if they just say it for political correctness.
Mon
We hear enough BS about R/K from rags and haters. It's nice to hear something positive about them from someone who has met or worked with either one. Rob is down to earth and Kristen is sweet seems to be the common theme.
I like Amy and she seems to have a great opinion of Kristen. I'm also looking forward to seeing this movie. It has a great cast and it will be exciting to see Kristen in another non-Twi movie. Malia - I saw Enchanted on TV recently and I noticed that the animated prince was called Edward, but the real-life love interest was Robert! I thought that was funny:) - SH
hye,
when those co-stars been asked the question, im pretty sure they didnt know whether which fans have heard this type of answer n which have not, they just answer what they thought of. so hearing the same answer from most people doesnt it make it sounds reliable? she is really sweet, he is handsome, etc. peace. -ra-
