Synopsis

I hope Kristen is able to attend the WFE premiere w/her main squeeze...that would be awesome to see her arm in arm with her man & SO VERY PROUD OF HIM...she'll be wearing that sweet smile on her face that I just LOVE..I guess we just have to wait & see what she plans to do...I can't wait to hear her comments about what she thinks of his movie & performance...interesting ALL the things to come next year, huh!?!! ok just got back from work. i just saw the trailer now because at work i could and i agree Malia, i cannot wait for Kristen's comments too.this film looks great, the photography is beautiful and yeah i think this film will make Rob more appreciated with the critics.
i must say, as hot as the chemistry is here, it doesnt compare to robsten!! but then, what can?? lol. its still amazingly great. reese is a lucky lady, thats for sure!!

And also I have a question: who is the protagonist in this movie? Marlena or Jacob? Since Reese's name is first, but it could be because she is the most famous right?
Saw the trailer and I must say it looks good even though it gives me a different feel than the book. Nothing against Reese but her portrayal of Malena doesn't seem true to the book. Hmmm... as if she's not vulnerable enough for the role. She looks more like a confident cabaret showgirl than an abused young wife. And the score for the movie sounds a bit fairytale-like. It doesn't suit the mood of the movie at all. That's just my opinion though.
And freaky coincidence, yesterday they had "I am legend" (Francis Lawrence is the director) in a greek channel on TV and today they have "Four Christmases" (with Reese) on the same channel!! Lol! Pretty ironic! And I plan on watching it tonight with a lot of pizza!! ;) :P

i have not read the book so my input comes conly from this trailer.
i said this before, i think Reese is old for this role, correct me if i am wrong but she is supposed to be younger than Jacob right? anyway the photography is beautiful and the film looks promising, maybe the heavy makeup and hair style make her look harsh and older, but then again that was the style of the time. so, lets see the whole thing first.
lala/c she is 10 years older, so this is going to be obvious anyway, but the thing is that the make up and hair from the era could make even a 17 year old look old! Anyway we have to admit that their chemistry is not the best! Objectively and generally speaking! But I guess if the performances are as good as we expect then they are gonna make up for that!
yes i agree Jess the chemistry(or whatever they call it) is not there, i did not want to say it because obviously we are biased over here,lol , maybe if they had chosen someone younger it would have worked for me. still, i will say it again, lets see the final product.
lala/c personally I'm really really biased with Robsten, but with Reese I'm totally objective, I just don't see any great chemistry! And I don't think we are saying something bad about the age thing, she is older than him, that's the truth! I mean when it came to deRavin I was negative as hell, I've said a lot of not so great things about her (:P), that was a whole other story!! But with Reese it's just constructive critism because I really like her!
I will have to disagree with those that are saying there is no chemistry here. I see LOADS of chemistry between Rob and Reese - loads! This is a good thing! I can picture Kristen watching this moving and 'awww'ing all over the place! I cannot wait to see this movie!

Chemistry... (in regards to acting talent) I think Rob could have chemistry with a paper bag. Meaning I think he is so talented that he could portray chemistry with anything/anyone. He has such charisma. And his eyes have such intensity that he can make me believe in his performance and his character that he is playing. That whatever he is trying to convey as a character with whatever co-star, I totally buy it and am sucked in to his performance. Just my feelings. Rob- I am SO looking forward to all your future projects!
Oh come on! Rob and Kristen have amazing chemistry but people need to stop saying he doesn't have chemistry with other actors like its some sort of bad thing. Having good chemistry with someone in a movie has nothing to do with their personal relationship with that person. Its acting. Rob and Kristen are actors, I'm sure they know how it works. And Rob's acting isn't going to be believable if the chemistry isn't believable so I don't know people are so being so quick to put down the chemistry between him and Resse. It needs to be there for the movie to do well. Do you not want Rob to do well in movies outside Twilight? Do you not want the same for Kristen? I'm sure if Rob has good chemistry with Resse it won't upset Kristen, in fact I bet she'll be proud of him.

OMG, how beautiful! I cannot wait to see this movie. I loved the book even before Rob considered the movie. He looks gorgeous. I think he looks more handsome here than in Twilight and that is hard to beat. Thud, thud, thud.

As far as the chemistry level goes...well, let's face it: NO ONE on this earth (so far, and i wonder ever) can top Robsten level, but I think Robwoski and Marlena/Reese is nice enough. I mean, come on! Have you seen Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie? That must have made the worst list ever!
Really can't wait to see this movie, not just because i am dying to see Rob in a new role, but Francis Lawrence is a brilliant director. He's movie debut "Constantine" really blew my mind!

I think we are all so spoiled from the insanely hot chemistry between R/K that nothing less will do!! I think Rob and Reese will not disappoint, it just won't be what we're used to :)
I am so impressed by everything about this movie so far. I think it's going to be fabulous. Cannot wait for it to be released. Already have a girls-night-out planned to go see it!!

But why some of you take some of the chemistry comments wrong?? why don't you just understand our point of view? I just don't see a great chemistry, I didn't say it sucks, but I said it's not the best! And I'm not irrational, I'm just judging by the trailer, I'm not saying that their chemistry is gonna suck in the movie! Maybe it's gonna be great in the movie! Maybe not! But who knows? I'm just speaking my mind about what I see in the trailer! Am I not allowed to not like something? And believe me it's definitely NOT because I'm Robsten-biased or Edward and Bella-biased! I'm not that shallow! And there are tons of other movies that I could say the chemistry is not good! Johnny and Angelina being an example like someone else said!
So just please try to get our point of view before you say we can't see past our Robsten glasses!
IA with Calihi27 Rob can act 'chemistry' bec he is an excellent actor. What R/K have is diff and exceeds this chemistry thingy, they just naturally exude love that's why. So, Rob and Reese's partnership will def work and will deliver, so its all good. :)

I LOVED THE TEASER TRAILER!!! It was awesome...this movie is going to rock. Rob is as sexy as ever...LOVE IT!! Love Reese...she never ages. Love it. Can April 15 be tomorrow?? I am willing to skip over Christmas to see this movie. HAHAHAHAHA!!!

@lala/c, I completely understand what you and @Jess were saying because I have thought and felt the same way. I would not like to add to this unfolding drama but just wanting to contribute my two cents' worth. Of course we all want Robert to be successful in any film he makes just we would for Kristen. And like S says we have become so completely wrapped up in the uber chemistry of Robsten that we use that as our measuring stick. Please do not misinterpret comments that express personal opinions; after all we are all here to support Robert and Kristen. But that does not deny the fact that sometimes differences of opinions occur because we all view life differently.
So, I'm with you lala/c, I will wait until after I watch the movie to see how it matches up with the book which I have read. Robert will carry this part through with his innate acting skills and will do us all proud.

From what i can see here thoughts about the chemistry between the main characters are divided-and it's all good, everyone has the right to express their own opinion, not everything is always black or white.That's the main reason why world is so entertaining so keep it going;)
What can be observed from my side , and comes to the fore, is THE CHEMISTRY between Jacob and ROSIE in one word: A-H-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!!,I can feel it , i feel real emotions, an incredible bond,i love how rob works with this witty animal,he is SOOO into it !!!You can tell how much he loves this elephant and so is Rosie OH MY ;D It seems our girl is TEAM JACOB all the way LOL
as to Marlena ... hmmm for me she has not enough charm,not as much as i wished , with all due respect for Reese, of course, it's hard to unequivocally say after watching 2 minutes of trimmed film, but she has a dominant idiom, exudes to much confidence and sex appeal. It does not fit me into her character at all. And here I am not talking about the outer side, a distinctive way of dressing for the era. I mean the entire message of emotional apparent in her performance. Christoph on the other hand, found himself well in this role of paranoid announcer. It is very reliable and focused attention, even in fleeting scenes.and as for Rob....

ok now srsly Rob as Jacob met my expectations,but i knew it before that he can fits perfectly in this role, it seems to me that he does not play, he lives his life, he IS Jacob. I think it's becouse this character is so close to his heart in terms of displays of emotion, feelings to the point that Robert do not have to put too much effort to give a him a proper shape. He shows in natural way that little introvert side of young Jacob.What's more Rob is simply a perfect vet material;)))
Again i can't wait to see final product , although release date in my country haven't been anounced yet.I hope.. soon ;)

A good actor acts the part convincingly. A great actor knows and becomes the character to the point that acting is not a thought. A good director takes you on a ride through their interpretation of the story. A great director transports you to another time and place and immerses you in story and characters and feelings. This film has both great actors and a great director, not to mention an obviously great cinematographer. I believe it's going to be wonderful and I couldn't be happier for all of them. I wish the movie great success and many nominations and can't wait to be sitting in the theater watching the drama unfold on the big screen. I'm taking tissues.
The official poster looks like a little piece of art. God I've not finished using superlatives for this movie ahah!
Austin : oh I loved the trailer's music. IMO it at least suits the images, bringing more magic & mystery. It really is inpiring. But I haven't finished the book yet and I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton movies' atmosphere so yeah ;)
BTW, I was really interested by the story of the book with its love, adventure and most of all animal abuse themes but when I began to read it a while ago I just gave up. I got carried away with the story so much that it was a bit too overwhelming. Yet I usually like that feeling & reading intense stories. I think I was afraid of the violent scenes, animal abuse touches me so deeply, and to think it will be even worse seeing it on screen... Yeah it's quite paradoxal :p But thanks to the trailer I decided to start reading it again yesterday.
Also I'm extremely happy Rob made a film with such an issue, I mean FUCK! He did it, it's just incredible!

As for the chemistry, well, we will make our final opinion in April anyway. IMO the trailer & other pics promise good chemistry and it's a nice start. I trust Rob & Reese to rock the love story part, they both are very good actors. Aaah it will be such a long wait...
Wow, this movie will come out on April 15, that's tax day in in the US!! After giving till it hurts to Uncle Sam, we can all head to the theater and enjoy this fabulous movie!

Chemistry is important for a drama movie or a relationship theme movie. Not all couples on screen are good. Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp is the example. I love Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman whey paly together in Kate and Leopold, but that doesn't mean they have to carry the chemistry off screen. Meg has a family and so is Hugh so it doesn't matter, right?
I really can't wait to see this movie too although I don't know when it will be premiered in my country :D

@tri4mut Oh I love Kate and Leopold,lovely film. How bout Hugh and Ashley Judd in 'Someone Like you'? Also one of my fave movie. Talk about movie chemistry that works but not romantic is Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Worked very well for 3 movies. lol
O yeah, I forgot about Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks :P silly me.... Sleepless in Seattle, You've got mail and I forget the other one hehe....
