Can someone explain to me why it's important that a film is shown at a film festival vs. just being released normally/regular premiere?

Aww that would be awesome if they both made it there.Me thinks Ninja Rob/Kristen need to practice their skills in an international setting.

Good morning peeps TGIF. Here is hoping for something epic.

A film festival is prestige. So it's good to see BA at the Berlinale. Now, that would be so good if both Rob and Kristen attend the festival. But Kristen is not in K-11.

RobStenation said...

@lala I was missing you bb. OME! If anything happens you'll know in advance. :(

@Anon 9.36 No confirmation yet. I'll keep you posted.

@Gina Its prestigious to be chosen to be in the final line up of any Film Fest, more so, the BFF. And lets not forget that BA is an indie and it needs all the fanfare and critic attention (hopefully, positive) it can get. And added press, of course, because of the festival. :)

Great news! It would be awesome if Kristen were too - there would no question why she would be there other than to support her man and her mama. If Kristen cannot make it then I'm hoping that we get a BTS pic of Rob and MamaStew. I still remember the pic of them outside the Charlie Hotel and how she fussed over him tidying his hair and pulling feathers out of it.

Okay I'm not counting on R/K both attending the festival together persay...I'm just crossing my fingers they'll go to the country together and maybe some pics of them out sightseeing might turn up. Crazy I know, but a girl can dream. If Kristen doesn't go and Rob does, I at least hope we get pics of Rob attending MamaStew's screening.

RobStenation said...

@Lindsay MamaStew directed and co-wrote the film. And its also Cameron's, Kristen's older brother, acting debut.

Great for Rob and Jules!

Already excited about the possibility of Michael Fassbender also being there, if Kristen is too, oh that would be awesome!! But, alas, I don't see Kristen going to Berlin. Think she will stay low-key at home.

That's a good news for MamaStew K11.I'm also excited to see Cameron in this film.
I hope R/K will go,cross our fingers.

HollandGirl said...

@Minuschi Ooh no, I never knew that that's where your name is based on haha. 'Minoes' is a really sweet movie, as a kid I loved it very much. And I always think it's funny that Carice van Houten plays in that movie for children, because nowadays she's one of the most famous and talented Dutch actresses! Have you seen many other movies from her? Like 'Black Book' and 'Er komt een vrouw bij de dokter' (sorry I don't know the English or German name...) 'Er komt een vrouw bij de dokter' is very very emotional, tears were streaming down my face...
It's so funny to learn more of these little facts of all the great people here!

deanie said...

Just wondering does anyone know why BelAmi&K-11 are not eligable to compete in the festival?

Anonymous said...

HollandGirl, I loved "Black Book" and Carice Van Houten was so good in it, I am surprised she didn't have an international career.

Looking forward to Bel Ami and I am very happy it will be shown at the Berlinale. But I don't care at all for K-11, just because Kristen's mother wrote the screenplay and directed it doesn't mean it's great, Kristen should have starred in it and then she decided not to, so maybe not a good sign.

Dear Kristen, If you read this please go with your significant other (Rob). I think you both will have a great time just getting away and seeing new things. Find some people in the industry that can disguise you, so you can wander and explore. Nothing simple, but something that people can't recognise you. Change, so you can enjoy yourselves.
