ITA- It is important that DuRoy remain unlikeable. That is the point of the story I think: Nice guys finish last.
It is a really good book. Rob should be wondeful as the bad guy.

Just an opposing point of view:
I like Rob in good guy roles. Surely the HUGE box office success of the Twilight Saga movies with Rob as Edward (a good fairly moral type guy)is proof that most fans
favor this type of character for him. Rob would do good to explore
alternative story lines, like science fiction, as in movie TRON,
or SOURCE CODE (where sexuality is not the main theme).

Oh Natalia, don't be so sure. They may have him "nice" by the time they are done editing, LOL. Ughhhh. But if they did that, makes you wonder how they would explain him marrying and/or sleeping with so many women all through out if he was this wonderful nice guy. SO, I have confidence they can't exactly make him very nice in it.

Cool! I really like what she had to say about Rob. And she definitely "gets it" in terms of she knows how important it is for actors to show a lot of range. And Rob definitely has it! I hope they don't mess about with Bel Ami so that we can see that "baddie" side of Rob's performance!!

I'm looking forward to Bel Ami even more than WFE simply because Georges Duroy is the antithesis of Rob. Duroy has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. If Rob pulls off that character convincingly, the sky is the limit. Definitely counting the days to see Rob as Jacob in WFE, though. From what we've seen so far, it could definitely be a contender come awards season.

btw does anyone know if it's an 18? well in the u.k anyways.
I'm guessing so if its got a lot of Rob's crack in it ;)haha REALLLY looking forward to that. ha *mind in gutter*

I hope BA doesn't come out in Nov especially as opposition to BD1...but I'm more excited to see BA than WFE...I want to see him playing a cad and what makes me smile is the fact that they all say he's not a nice character but He still has the looks.
