Very interesting bit from GuardianUK, Thanks to KStewAngel. We're not sure if they just assumed the role is now Joel Edgerton's since Jeremy Renner was already announced as the new lead in Bourne Legacy Deadline.com . We're hoping for more confirmation in the days to come.
GuardianUK ... "Bill Gray, professor of literary history at Chichester University, who is also director of the university's Sussex Centre for Folklore, Fairy Tales and Fantasy, has been appointed as consultant on the Universal Pictures production of Snow White and the Huntsman. Based on the Grimm fairytale, Snow White is to be shot late this summer and will star Kristen Stewart, Joel Edgerton and Charlize Theron."
More background info about Prof. Bill Gray via KStewAngel
Joel Edgerton, as Sir Gawain in 2004's King Arthur.

According to the GuardianUK...SWATH will star Kristen, Charlize and Joel Edgerton.

Is Guardian UK a reliable S?
Well,I don't know this guy,but we support Kristen,so I guess will take him,if he will be cast for the role.
Seen WFE again today, and we don't want the movie to end.
S,does gusrdianUK is a realible source?because if it is than GREAT!can't wait!TBH i LOVVEE joel edgerton looks><i know his not a famous nor an A-list hollywood star but at least for me when i imagine his look on the huntsman part are just perfect!he has this tough, strong, face plus he has that cute aussie-accent!lol.good luck to joel(if the news true though)

I have seen Joel Edgerton in other movies. He is absolutely brilliant and talented. I know he's not very familiar in the U.S. but trust me...this dude knows how to act. I honestly think he has what it takes to be a tough huntsman. He's not the best looking guy but when did a fairytale ever end with a pretty, sissy boy rescuing the damsel?...not that Snow White is a damsel in distress. Snow White can hold her own which is why I think KS will do the part justice. This film is going to be edgy and trippy!
Joel is an excellent casting choice for the Huntsman. As an Aussie, I've been watching Joel in a variety of roles, in film and television over the last 10 years, and he is AMAZING!
He is also a brilliant stage actor, so I have absolute faith that he would make a great addition to SWATH.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed this happens because it'll be fabulous if it does!
Happy Easter everyone (it's Sunday here, and can I also make a shout out for ANZAC Day here tomorrow as well...)!
Um Okay. Don't know anything about him so I'll defer to our Aussie friends and trust that he's great. He's about 35-37 right? So they went decidedly younger than Viggo--don't think that's a bad idea. I'm excited that it's coming together 'cause summer will be here before you know it. Now let's find Snow a prince!
excited! dont know much about joel but thats cool. ill support kristen in whatever she does :) EEp! cant wait to see the prince charming!! i hope its a well-known actor. or whatever....
cant wait!!I love kristen!!
Well in the photo posted he certainly looks the part. Hopefully casting will be finalized soon if it hasn't already and things can get started.
I hope this movie is a knockout for Kristen. She is such an awesome chic.
I don't know about this. Let's just hope Universal and the director make it a good movie since they already got two great actresses here.
I was going to say, Ive never heard of this guy. But then I read above that hes not well known in the US really. Is he from the UK or something? Kind of sad that they went from big names to not so big names though. Not going to lie :(
@Aimzers He's Australian.
He looks very cute! I hope he gets cast or is already cast.
All I know I'm so excited to see thisovie at the theatre.I love kristen and all the movies she make.
Iam waiting for prince charm, but this guy it's ok to be the hunstman.
His an Aussie too...wow how many guys Britt and Aussie expansion to HOLLYWOOD???
WFE not come in yet in my country S...huhhh!!!
I love Kristen and i can't wait see SWATH.

Ohhh….come on everyone!i think his great!i already search about him thru IMDB and OMG his already made a lot of tv shows in aussie and films!like do you know that he played in star wars episode 2 and 3 and animal kingdom ?i mean that’s pretty cool plus my dad has a completed star wars trilogy DVD.hehe.just like everyone said we don’t know about him but as long as he got that charisma and great acting-skills than I will def.support him.but I do hope that universal finds the right actor for the huntsman part really quick because it’s kinda more embarrassing right now for the studio for having fail negotiation second time in a row to viggo M(which I love)and hugh J(which I admire).for me universal should just keep a secret about the casting choice but I don’t know because if they do that I will be very anxious about who the actors that will play the characters from SWATH.hahaha.and I’m truly sad that relativity’s stole armie hammer as the prince!and I just knew that today!lol.well…moving on!hehe.i think joel will be a good huntsman but we just have to wait and see if universal can find a great actor for the huntsman part.truly sorry for the long comment everyone!
@lala Nope, he doesn't play opposite the Evil Queen.
i don't have a good feeling about this.
I think Joel Edgerton is good but I still hope that Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt will take the role.
Definitely rugged look on the horse there, I think he can pull off the Huntsman look for sure! Like Misty, deferring to the Aussies, since we don't really know of him in the US, but I'm hoping for great things! I'm excited it's coming together!
Ok, I'm trying to be more optimistic. This dude's acting skills better to be good enough to offset his lack of ability to draw box office.
Mon
I'm not familiar with him, but I like this feeling of not knowing who he is. Makes you kind of curious and wanna see the movie.
I've seen a photo of Joel in the ranaways premiere he was there and probably saw the movie so I'm guessing he liked Kristen and that's one of the reasons why he wants to do the movie.
so finally....!!!
me too dunno him, never heard or seen any movie of him but I think we just have to wait and see the movie and then judge about him
I trust universal they do great job so trying to be optimistic
a big Wow....Bill Gray, professor of literary history at Chichester University as consultant.....soooo good this adds credit to the movie that Kristen is part of it so good for her.
i think GERARD BUTLER is good in the role of huntsman or Maybe sam worthington. SAB
I think he was in a trailer for a movie when I went to see WFE. I thought the name sounded familiar I am almost positive it was him, he looked really good in the trailer I saw. I am going to be optimistic and hopefully this film will do really well for all of them! There was also a trailer for that movie with Elizabeth Reeser and Micheal and Emma Roberts, I thought it was called Homework, they must have changed the title (or I am completely confused). I leaned over and had to tell my friend who all of them were, she thought it was nutty that I knew that much about all of them! LOL
TS
saw a trailer on Friday before WFE for another movie Joel made called "Warrior" (sent a comment about it yesterday; idk what happened to it,lol)...anyhoo, he may not be Clive Owen S, but, he doesn't look too shabby either bb, haha...I know, I know, I'm still thinking about CO too,lol...GO JOEL!, um, did I say that w/enuf "umfgh"? heehee....can't wait for SnowStew...bring it!! thanks for the SWATH update S :)//||\\
Thanks for posting this King Arthur pic S! Now I remember where I had seen J.E. I liked him in this part but it is the only thing I've seen him in! I think he'll be good in Snow White because he seems intense! But, that's just me sayin...
amazing, i wish to kristen success
I hope they make this movie as good as WFE. I think Kristen deserves an opportunity like Rob had.
Now all three leads are set. I can't wait to see Kristen as the new Snow white. I think she's perfect for this role. I do wish the production really make it a blast. Give us a fresh and good new look of this iconic story.
