Wait a minute, Shia was in a car accident and lost his license for a year. So, he has some mess ups in his life and a hand injury that will never fully heal.

(in his case his saying about Robs drinking) ,he has NO right to judge on Rob,this interview just shows how egotist he is and how very obviously he ridicules Rob's role as a vampire.

I don't think he meant it the way it came out. I think the point he was trying to make was that Media focuses on the bad. So he would like to be known for his work, as would Rob.

I agree with girlnxtdr2u. I think he was pointing out how if a huge celebrity (like Rob) makes a mistake, it's more interesting news than their work, and he wants to be known for his work. I don't think he meant any disrespect to Rob. I think he was pointing out his own past troubles and how he doesn't want to be known for that.
Is he saying that he wants to stay away from the 'partying' of Hollywood??!! If that is the case...then good...but if he is refering to Rob drinking then who is Shia to judge?!! WTF??!!
i think he was just using rob's name as a stand in for like any uber-famous person- it doesnt sound like it was directed at him personally, like he also used brad pitts name. i think he was saying its interesting to hear famous, well-known ppl messed up, and just was saying rob is famous and well-known. badly worded though. he should know if there is one fan base you dont f with, its rob's! grr! lol
I'm not sure what he's saying. The mention of Rob, and then the Twilight reference makes it sound like he doesn't care much for either. Maybe that's not what he meant, but if it is, he's a jerk.

Brad Pitt is a hard drinker. I hope he didn't mean that Rob was headed that way also. Parts of the interview was hard to understand.

well, i dont take this guy seriously outside of his acting abilities. he is kinda eccentric to me but i still believe he is one of the best actors of his generation. and he is not in the position to play cool because he is not perfect either.
i dont think he is bashing on rob. i think what he meant was he is lucky that rob is more popular than him and has more ridiculous gossips than what he has. i find him a little bit insecure of rob too, maybe because rob is the "it" right now and he kinda steal the spotlight from him.
i dont even think he'll even reach rob's popularity. he is not gorgeous, sexy or anything. he is just a good actor. while rob...rob has the WHOLE PACKAGE ;) hahaha!
I think anahita is correct. Rob's popularity is hard on the ego, specially of that of Shea's. Rob's approach to his beyond imagination popularity is grinding on the little man's cool. Read this man's family background, and you'll understand where these off balance jokes came from.

After reading both sides, IMHO each side has valid points. But to quote claire from manila and twilightnan, I think if Shia thought a little faster on his feet, he could have very easily made the comments in a general sense without mentioning names in the business. You know, maybe he could have been a little more politically correct...
or could very well be some insecurity about Rob's success showing in his comments.

i think rob doesn't care about what people think of him.i hate when people are unnecessary comparing rob with zac and taylor.they both are great and respects rob and never unnecessary drop rob's name like others and seriously there are many.eg=courtney cox,shia,ed ,ian etc.
