Here’s what we know: the movie, slated to come out in 2012, is called “The Bourne Legacy” and will further explore the series mythology by introducing a new bad guy assassin who is tangled up with the mysterious government agency Treadstone. And Matt Damon won’t be starring in it.
And because Damon won’t be there, ”Bourne Legacy” won’t have Bourne in it at all. Instead, it’ll feature an all-new superspy as the main character living in his world. This got us to thinking — who in Hollywood has the stones to step into Damon’s iconic shoes?
The possibilities are pretty much endless — Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Alex O’Laughlin? Seth Rogen? — but we’ve managed to narrow it down to a few worthy finalists. Here, then, are our top picks for the role of America’s top secret agent:

Let’s think: what does the star of a “Bourne” movie need to do? He needs to be able to pull off action sequences; he needs to be able to do some deep brooding; and he needs to do both while looking good. A brooding, good looking action star? That’s what Pattinson’s business cards say, people. Could there be a more perfect fit for the part than RPattz? We didn’t think so either.

I think I want Rob for Bond like in 10 years? So, I'll pass on this sexy spy action hero role...and I'm not a big fan of the Bourne series - so that's that. What do you guys think?

Yes, I definitely agree with you on this one,..I would love to see Rob in 007 Bond Movie as you said later on when he is more mature age wise..can you imagine Rob, uttering those words..My name is Bond..."James Bond"..he has got the look,the height,..no need to change his accent,he would be a devastatingly handsome 007..maybe his screen dad Pierce Brossnan can give him some tips!!
I agree about Bond more so.. years from now for sure! between his good looks and I'm sure he will mature beautifully with that chin, come on haha.. and with the accent, he would make a great bond I think.. he has a slick humor too...:)
I prefer him doing something original, not a spin-off/reboot of something that just came out in the last few years. Usually, they don't use A-listers for these roles. They become A-listers after starring in them, if it's a hit.
Not a big fan of the Bourne series either, and I can't really picture Rob in that kind of role.
I do have a question though, the list with five names and then Rob as number 6. The name on the fourth spot is a woman, she is a swedish actress (I know, cause I'm swedish too). What is she doing on a list of guys?! Confusing much?! :)
I'm not a huge fan too so but i really think that's a good role for Rob and he can shows one more time his acting skills.

Totally agree with you Shaui, I really want Rob as Bond, deff still way later...but this Bourne thing is more a Tay Lautner's thing than
Rob's, so yeah I don't mind if he passed this.

lol ok the brooding he can do, but the action?(kidding girls but really i have a hard time picturing him doing something like james bond) hmmm yeah better wait a bit for this type of character.then again who knows?

Iv'e actually never watched any of the Bourne movies, Bond would be a better chioce in 10 or so years. I know it would proberbly never happed but it would be cool to see Kristen as his Bond girl, although I'm not sure I really see her playing that kind of roll

I like the Bourne movies a lot! I don't think they should make another one sans Matt Damon. It seems weird to me. But IF they do, it seems a major stretch for Rob, because I don't think he'll want to jump into another franchise, however, he could totally do it and do it well, if he had a mind to. But the script would have to be amazing for him to even consider it. In my mind, I could see Mark Wahlberg doing it, but Taylor Lautner would be a better fit. He is young enough and def has the physique for it. BUT the script has to be amazing for the film to work at all in my opinion. I thought they covered everything in the previous Bourne movies.

Bourn series itself is quite nice, but I just don't see Rob as Jason Bourn...I mean, I love Rob to death, but I have hard time to see our flippy as an action star:P

I agree Taylor for the Bourne series and Rob for Bond in about 10 years. Now we just need to find a kick-butt action flick for Kristen and the Twifecta is complete.
rob is a little young to play jason bourne. i like the movies and have read some of the books. one thing though, rob can do action he was good in his fight scene in eclipse. taylor may have the muscles but he did not have any actual fight scenes in the series so far.
I actually love the Bourne series and love Matt Damon in it. Don't see Rob in a Bourne movie but ABSOLUTELY would LOVE to see Rob take on 007 after he gets just a bit older. OMG, talk about perfect, and talk about BLOCKBUSTER, runaway hit movies!! And he does now have the absolutely delicious former 007 Pierce Brosnan as a friend which has to be a bonus ace in the hole. No dis to Daniel Craig, who I think is fantastic as the current 007, but WOW, Rob Pattinson as 007... :swoon: You are a genius, Shaui!!!

Ohhh! Rob was born to be James Bond! can you imagine how drop dead handsome he will be in 10 years???!! I mean really....drop dead! I believe if he landed the Bond role it would please his father also!! How sweet! I vote for Chris Pine as Jason Bourne! He has experience with action movies, is the right age, looks similar to Matt Damon, and is easy on the eyes also!
as good as rob would be in basically any movie, i too, am not a huge fan of the bourne films - nothing against them, but i just cant see rob in it. i prefer his little indie flicks a lot more, they suit him better? :)
