Kristen's LA Times Interview: Breaking Dawn Will Change People's Minds About Bella

"Twilight" fans love to debate their favorite novel in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire series. Kristen Stewart says she has her own favorite -- and it's the most explicit and intense of the bunch.

"This one's really good. This one really goes there, finally," said the actress who plays the iconic Bella Swan of "Breaking Dawn." "This one is like the forming of a family. You see everything really come to fruition because I feel like [Bella] has sort of gone through an accelerated growth period."

In November, Stewart will reprise the Bella role when she begins filming the first half of “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth movie in the “Twilight” franchise, which will be directed by Bill Condon. The story follows [spoiler alert: if you aren't familiar with "Breaking Dawn," skip to the last paragraph] Bella’s marriage to vampire Edward Cullen (Rob Pattinson), as the two finally consummate their relationship and Bella becomes pregnant.

"At at this point," Stewart says, "you do accept [Bella] as a mom.”

Because their child is half-human and half-vampire, Bella’s pregnancy is riddled with complications -- all leading up to a dramatic birth scene, in which Edward tears open Bella’s stomach with his teeth to save their baby.

There has been speculation about how the graphic scene will be depicted on screen. Stewart acknowledges it's a "crazy concept," also describing werewolf Jacob's hearing "vampire teeth against vampire skin" during the childbirth scene.

Just how that will play out on screen, though, has yet to be determined. "I've seen the script," which tracks closely to the book, she says. "But it depends on how they shoot it."

Stewart, who was speaking to 24 Frames to promote her new independent drama "Welcome to the Rileys," said she thinks her "Twilight" character has been misunderstood. “Bella’s criticized sometimes for being, like, you know -- I don’t know, selfish and overly emotional and silly and frivolous and annoying and young,” said Stewart. “That’s sort of like a very judgmental way of looking at it." theLATimes

Leave Bella Swan Alone, Breaking Dawn will be awesome
LATimes For those audacious enough to challenge the reign of Bella Swan, Kristen Stewart is here to tell you — she's about to get so much better.

Character Bella is "criticized sometimes for being, like, you know — I don't know, selfish and overly emotional and silly and frivolous and annoying and young,” Stewart told 24 Frames. "That’s sort of like a very judgmental way of looking at it."

So why should you give Robert Pattinson's on-screen love a shot?
"This one really goes there, finally ... this one is like the forming of a family. You see everything really come to fruition, because I feel like [Bella] has sort of gone through an accelerated growth period."

I love the way Kristen always talks about Bella. She doesn't just babble some random things, she says things she means. I really can't wait for BD!

Hmmm... interesting that Kristen feels Bella is misunderstood about her decision to be with and marry Edward. It has me wondering if Kristen is worried if she too decide as Bella has in marrying young. Like would we judge Kristen's decision. Well, I for one can only answer for myself... if Kristen and Rob really feel this way with one another and the it feels right for them then you just have to follow your heart and let allow anyone to judge you. Only they know what and when... but from what I gathered about them - there's really no wrong. Both Kristen and Rob have very good parents as their role models.

Errr.. I mean't "follow their heart and NOT let people's judgemental opinion get in the way of their heart..."

Kristen's never been one to sugar coat her words; she says exactly what is on her mind which is why most times she is greatly misunderstood just like Bella. It is good to hear her defend Bella against all these judgmental minds. She will do justice to her role as Bella and so will Rob with Edward as long as the script they are given allows them to.

Counting the days, weeks and months before BD Part I is here.

Kristen understands Bella fully...well,she describes Bella's decisions and emotions the way I see Bella. All her statements are what I would want her to say about BD(glad K always speaks so honestly).:)
I hated the end meadow scene when Bella does the M.Rosenberg speech about knowing she should be a vampire (wonder how K felt about it..don't know how they allowed it in the film)and that's why she is changing. She became a vamp to be with E forever and the fact that she was good @ it came after she became one.:)
I am over the moon knowing that K gets everything about Bella and will fight for Bella's motivations in BD. Hopefully script will adhere to main themes in book.
