Hello fans!
Has it really been five months (and a day) since my last dispatch? In my defense, they've been five months spent immersed in the world of TWILIGHT - something I'm sure you can all appreciate. We're in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go, but I do want to take a moment to announce to you exclusively a few of the amazing production team members who are hard at work alongside me, bringing these movies to life. I hope you'll be as excited about them as I am:
Guillermo Navarro, who won an Academy Award for the beautiful PAN'S LABYRINTH, is our cinematographer. Guillermo and I have been painstakingly planning each shot, with a team of very talented storyboard artists.
Michael Wilkinson, our costume designer, is bringing his brilliant vision to the styles of all your favorite characters. Michael's created fantastic looks for 300, WATCHMEN, and the upcoming TRON: LEGACY - just wait 'til you see his take on the vampire witnesses who come to Forks from around the globe.
Jean Black, our makeup designer, has worked extensively with the Coen Brothers and David Fincher, most recently making exquisite, award-winning contributions to THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. I'm honored to be working with her.
Richard Sherman, with whom I made GODS AND MONSTERS and KINSEY, is on-board as our production designer. Richard's one of my oldest collaborators and a terrific designer, and you may be interested to know that he also happens to be a lifelong vampire aficionado.
Our Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor John Bruno has been responsible for some of the most memorable special effects ever, with his groundbreaking work on display in everything from POLTERGEIST to AVATAR. He and his team are working intensely to develop solutions to the host of special effects challenges that Stephenie created for us in BREAKING DAWN, including that remarkable kid...
Wonderful, imaginative people all and very exciting, intense times for us. Even with the months of work we've already put in, we're barely underway on the journey, and I do hope to get back to you much sooner next time with more news. So kind of him for posting this note for us! So many interesting things about the pre-production!! I just hope this is not the last note from him, it can be really neat if he share some details about the actual production.
wowzz i can actually say I have high hopes for BD seeing the team and all..i knew Bill woukd be the one to save us! no more Taycob, please!!! I think he is Team Edward..cant wait!

I'm REALLY hoping that BD will be bring back the ROMANTIC element of the original Twilight - with less emphasis on Jacob...
Only concern is that Eclipse got a lot of good reviews from critics because of the action sequences, so Condon may be thinking of going along the same path - not to mention SM and JR appear to be Team Jacob/Taylor. But, fingers crossed that I am wrong!

wow! really just wow! can you believe it? first, Twilight was like the "lil Indie Film" turned out to be a huge box office franchise. & now, an Oscar winning team/crew! wow! Nov. 18, 2011 come here now!!!!!
he seems to have his own team which is good.i hope they make a better job with wigs and makeup.i am very hopeful with Bill Condon.and i hope he concentrates the action in the bedroom department.lol

It's very sweet of him to keep us fans updates and in the loop.
And I'm very excited to hear that the make up artist previously did Benjamin Button, since they will probably need effects and make up like in that movie in order to pull of a fast aging Renesmee :)
I hope they will make the vampires stunning and that they will stick true to the story, but I have a good feeling about Bill, so this will be an exciting journey starting soon! :)
Please please please make it awesome Bill. As said above, bring back the E and B love. Eclipse was so Jacob. Bella seemed to be angry with Edward all the time. I hope MR gets it right this time.
I really admire Bill Condon, he is probably the best thing about all the Twilight Saga and of course Rob. It sounds like an amazing team I am looking forward to their work in the Saga and hope they can really bring alive not only the look and sound of BD but also the emotion that has not always been evident in the past films. Heres to you Bill.
Dear Bill,
We are SO excited for Breaking Dawn. There are some essential things we NEED you bring to the screen.
The love: I'm talking Edward/Bella love. Jacob is done, Edward is the ONE! Please focus on the emotional love/intensity that Bella & Edward have for each other. It's what MAKES the series (imho). Aside from the 2 Meadow scenes & the Leg hitch scene in Eclipse, the E/B love was a bit too lacking (I'm not even going to mention NM b/c Edward was so absent).
The angles: 1)Twilight- Catherine did an AWESOME job on the E/B kissing scene. The angles were SO HOT! There was crazy ass chemistry & hello jaw porn! 2)New Moon- altho I love Chris, angles...not so much. (w/exception of reunion kiss in Italy). The kissing scene in her bedroom after Italy.... Poor angles & a bit of a yawn. 3)Eclipse- pretty awesome angles. The opening meadow scene?! SWOON!!! Leg hitch scene?! SWOON!!! Final meadow scene?! Awwww sweet!
The music: Specifically, music used in E/B romantic scenes. 1)Twilight- it was pretty. No music in the kissing scene which I thot was actually a good choice. It was so hot it didn't need it. Tree scenes/piano scene- beautiful, love! 2)New Moon- Didn't really hit me as much as it should. Although pretty, the kissing scene in Italy could have been a lot more emotional & intense musically speaking. 3)Eclipse- spot on! Opening meadow scene- beautiful. Leg hitch- God, the music made that scene so hot, steamy, & emotionally sweet. It enhanced the scene so much & made me FEEL the love & chemistry not just see it.
The sex: Ok, I'm not going to get pervy here but Damn! We have been waiting 4 books for Edward & Bella to FINALLY do the deed! So please, make it hot, steamy, and hella sexay! (Did I just write hella?!) Don't wimp out & show them just kissing then fade to black & wake up the next morning. We've had sexual tension up the wazoo for three freakin movies That's a long ass time so PLEASE for the love of God give us passionate, hot Edward/Bella Sex! I repeat: Don't. Wimp. Out.!
You have put together an awesome team. I have faith that you'll create a fabulous ending for a series we love so much. That you know what we want to see and will deliver it to us. If you don't... Well, let's just say I wouldn't want to be you. (just kidding... Not really)

Bill, please, please, pleeeease do a good job on Breaking Dawn 1 and 2. I've been waiting for this film for three years!! But I trust that you'll do an amazing job directing it :D And also, bring back the E/B love! Thaaanks :D
Shaui, I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Thankyou so much for bringing us out this Robsten drought with the Twilight BTS pictures. i should probably be saying this on that post but I don't want to post on everysingle thing that you post, so sorry about this.
Even if we haven't got any pictures of them, we know they're together and we'll get pictures soon enough :)
@Calihi27 I TOTALLY agree with everything you said. Especially about the sex scenes. Lol. The sexual tension that has been built can't be for nothing. I'm hoping they don't wimp out because of the pg13 rating..

Calihi27.... Bravo, Bravo!! I couldnt agree with you more! Hell, I was going to say the EXACT SAME THINGS! I just sent an email to some friends (hee hee) about the kissing angles! And well, you REALLY said everything I think about the Edward/Bella (Rob/Kristen) intensity, chemistry and foreplay, and the need for a better resolution to the sexual tension then FADE TO BLACK. haha
And because I have decided to say it in every BD comment or post till the movie is finished, just in case someone is reading it haha, COTTAGE. FLOOR. Bill Condon.. close the set, let vampire, no holding back, Rob and Kristen just burn the 2nd film to the ground. :)
NOW... I literally screamed YESSSSSSSS when I saw that Guillermo Navarro is the cinematographer!!! The first thing I think of when I remember that movie IS the amazing cinematography! THIS IS FANTASTIC!! Breaking Dawn needs to have a sweepingly, epic feeling to it and I think Bill Condon and Gillermo Navarro will bring that feeling!!!
I am glad that the production team is full of very talented people. And of course, we have ROB AND KRISTEN at the helm of everything and being they BECOME Edward and Bella those worries are out of the way.
Now about the script... and SM hovering.. and the things of the book that NEED to be included and stuff that NEEDS to be EXPANDED... Oh, that's another post for another day... I will try to remain optimistic with this production team news!!

@Calihi27,I totally agree w/u..you have given a very comprehensive checklist for Bill Condon to consider for the 4th final book of our beloved Twilight series..like the majority of the twilight fans,I hope they bring back the focus on Edward and Bella Love..and as @Calihi27 pointed out ..the fans have been waiting for the final book BD for EDward and Bella to finally do the "deed" and to show a Honeymoon scene worthy of the the fan's expectations to have a release of the sexual tensions that has been building up for three movies..like everybody I'm looking forward to a hot steamy sex scenes between Rob...I mean..Edward..and..Kristen..oppss..I mean Bella..hihi..sorry I'm getting carried away w/my imagination here..I'm looking forward to see the movie adaptations of B/D 1&2..no more team Jacob,plz..it should be just "Edward and Bella"..I do hope Melissa Rosenberg has staff checking the fandom internet blogs to get fans opinions /views,and give these opinions some considerations and we don't end up with a BD action movies full of Jacob's Abs..ewww..instead of a great lovestory that millions arond the globe fell in love with!!@Iluvthemovies..great comments as well..Hi to my other favs..and to Twilola and "Claire from Manila":)

Wow! Thanks BC, for the introductions to your team! I'm getting a good feeling about these movies.. I also echo everyone's feelings here - it's all about the E/B love in BD!! Please, please bring back their romance, their intensity and a little bit of action! Some suggestions to add 1) tone down the cakey white makeup on the vamps 2) use more realistic contact lenses 3) make Kristen look really gorgeous as a vamp (thinking dark smokey eyes, long full wavy hair and sexy clothes (finally!) and 4) a wedding scene that's emotional and romantic. Can't wait! - SH

ITA about the Cottage floor. ITA with Calihi27 comments, spot on. They can make a sexy and hot movie for a PG-13 rating, just look at the Notebook, when Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are swept away with a rainstorm and he takes her into his home and does things to her that whoa, I am still recovering. That is a great sex scene. That is what I want from Edward and Bella, especially when they become vampires, down and dirty, no holds barred. It does not have to be pornographic for it to be hot. I just want to see some skin exposure and hear ripping sounds and clothes flying everywhere, panting, groaning, sweat, oh I forgot vamps don't sweat, but u know what I mean, all within a rated PG-13 domain and I swear if Stephenie, Bill, or Melissa, don't do it justice, my Twilight collection is gone, that is how passionate I am that they get this right for the second time in the Saga. Their first kiss was amazing and I have yet to see it duplicated in any of the remaining stories, yes Eclipse was good, but not nearly as good as that first kiss. That kiss will go down as one of the "Best Kissing Scenes" in cinema.
@calihi27 you have summed up my thoughts completely and twilightnan has seconded it as well. I think no one will argue the fact that we just want BD to highlight the climax of the love that Edward and Bella shares in this saga. The center stage rightfully belongs to these two.
@twilightnan, we found another bird of the same feather in 'claire from manila'. I bet there are thousands more who belong to our flock that we just don't know about. Us 'birds' all have good taste.
To Mr. Condon, here's to a start of a beautiful relationship!!!

Our new best friend is totally lovely. It's nice for him to write thii kind of updateletter to fans. I totally count on him, he'll make the most unforgettable Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2! The team that works with him sounds pretty amazing too, movie rests in good hands :)
