Breaking Dawn Update: New Casts + Photos

Twilight Examiner A vast wealth of new castmembers for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 have been announced (adding to the recently announced "Denali" castmembers), and the new additions are for the following vampire "Covens" in Breaking Dawn: The Amazonian Coven; The Egyptian Coven; The Irish Coven; The Romanian Coven; and the Nomads.

The Denali Coven are HERE

The Breakdown and pics under the CUT

OT: Chilean mine rescue.  Last miner #33 is OUT! This is a blessed day. Thank God!

The castmembers attached to each character are broken down below in the casting announcement.

THE AMAZON COVEN
The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.
Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe. They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN:
The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.

The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN
The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.

The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie's talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN
The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.

The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi. For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS
The American Nomads are comprised of:
Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
Erik Odom as Peter.
Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle's closest and oldest friends.

Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires

Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates. They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player. They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair

A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority. Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

I am getting depressed. Are "Edward" and "Bella" going to be in BD? Are they going to be on screen longer than 10 minutes?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Breaking Dawn is taking shape! With filming right around the corner, I think we'll have another monsoon of sightings and cute stories! I so can't wait to see Bill Condon's vision of BD. Please Bill- do a great job!

@Anon 8:03 Pessimist much? So you don't want any of the aforementioned vamps in BD? Don't answer me.

I'm really happy with the cast! They pretty much present all the vamps in BD. So excited! :))

I think Im going to go back and reread BD because I seriously can't remember all of these vamps. Thats ok though bc I love the book. Just gives me an excuse. :)

I swear to God I'm not anon 8;03 but that's exactly how I felt when I saw all these new people What the heck!

Ow wow, great to see the faces - they've chosen well I think!

I dont understand the pessimism here. Those characters are in the book, no more no less. Do you want just one pair of male and female vamps to represent all the covens? Or not do that part altogether?

I for one am excited about how many vampires are being cast in the movie....it means that the book truly is being followed....a huge part of BD is the coming-together of the different covens of the world to defend the Cullens and Renesmee; how can that process, or the climactic battle at the end, be brought to the screen, if there is not a huge cast? Of course E/B will be the central focus, but, as with each book, each movie introduces more and more characters into their world. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but I think the BD "ship" is being steered by some serious heavyweights who know what they're doing....let's let them do it. Can't wait to see this final product!!

I'm so EXCITED--"Breaking Headboards"--it's all coming together & I love the idea of all these actors playing the vamps--awesome. Can't wait to see Garrett tell off Aro, it's gonna be SAAWEEET!!! Can't wait to see Zafrina too, love that vampire!

guys relax! these characters are in the book, its not something that they just invented so they can add a bunch of nonsense casts. so whether you like it or not, they have to be there or its not twilight.

bella and edward will always be the centre of this movie so don't think that they will not have enough exposure. like duh?! wedding, honeymoon, pregnancy, birth scene, hunting..what more do we want?!

Joe Anderson is a incredible actor!.
A new british man in the saga.
This will be such a amazing crew!... and movie! :)

I think that maybe those that are complaining are fans of the movies or of Kristen & Rob only and not fans of the book series?!? If you are a fan of the books then you are jumping for joy that they aren't leaving these people out. They are necessary to the story line & cutting any of them out would mess things up in my mind. The whole idea was to gather as MANY vampires as they could to speak on Renesmee's behalf so that they might stand a chance against the Volturi. If they cut that down to a handful of actors it wouldn't even make sense... it would look silly! Let's be positive... we have two whole films (so 4ish hours) to fill so I am sure there will be PLENTY of Edward & Bella time but let's remember that there is more to the story than just them! :)

GREAT news!!
So Nahuel is the only one missing?

This means filming is getting closer! I love that they have cast so many covens. In an interview a little while ago with MR she was saying they may of had to leave some out, glad they didn't. Excited much? YYEEEEESSSSS.

No wonder they are making BD into two movies. Too bad they are a year apart! Can't wait for all of the new cast. Hope I can keep them all straight.
I hope we see some more Robsten date night pics.
Does that make me sound like a dork?

sharilee said...

@RobsSpiderMonkey--just had to tell you that I love your name!! ;) And I agree with you that with 4+ hours of movie time to fill, we should have many delicious scenes of E/B and hopefully lots of broken headboards to enjoy!!

This cast will be in BD Part 2 anyway...right??!!
I felt cheated in Eclipse regarding E & B relationship. Too much focus on the other characters and do not want that to happen again. Yes they are important but not at the expense of E & B. And please ....let each scene flow seamlessly into the next... No choppy, knee jerking scenes.

I am thrilled that they will develop nearly all of the characters that are in the book. It seems easier to figure out how they are going to fill up two movies with these other cast members.
These new folks are blessed because the Twilight series has helped a bunch of people get their careers out in the open. Yea! I can't wait. Cheers, AJ

Sounds like the book is coming together. I remember reading about all the covens and loved the characters in them. Getting excited.

@Shaui, Yes thank God the miners are out--what an incredible world we live in that such a rescue could be accomplished!! Kudos to the amazing engineers, workers, and rescue personnel that made it possible!

These are a bunch of good looking vampires and I especially love Lee Pace! These characters are essential to the story line, and I don't think they would eliminate much of E/B screen time. Just like eclipse, there were many new characters but to me the movie still center around E/B. Let's be realistic, the lovebirds can't be hogging 99% of the screen time, right?!

Who cares about all these vampires, for real.I don't even remember who they were in the book.I just skipped all the boring stuff and it was a lot.BD2 will be a flop,i suspect.

Good morning my robsten world.
Please let cast Tom as Nahuel. The make up artists can do the job. That would be hilarious.

For me the first part is the most important. If they film it with twilights magic I am gonna show them my money lot and lot of times. As of the second part not my cup of tea. I will watch it of course and buy the DVD and all, but even while reading it I skipped the pages which I found boring. That's my opinion. For me to quote Rob twilight is a great love story not a vampire movie.

@kpattz me too.

I'm happy to hear that the covens didn't get cut or condensed in the film. Besides we're only going to see a few of their scenes in BD2. The heart of the story will continue to be E/B,so I'm not worried about the cast of thousands they've added for the film. It's getting closer and closer to filming time and I can't get excited enough!

@Malia & RobSpiderMonkey; totally agree. I love the new cast members! Especially Garrett. he plays an important role.(I kinda always thought that it should have been Carlisle that gave that speech, though) It looks, so far, like they are staying true to the book. If they do, it will be an epic set of films. (more than it is now)They need to go out on a high note, otherwise Bill Condon will be remembered as the guy who botched the most anticipated movies of the decade. I'm sure he and his chosen team are going to nail it!! The only way he could screw up would be to unnecessarily veer away from the book.
You are so right- It is VITAL to gather as many vampires as possible to stop the Volturi. We all know, theres no way Bella or Edward will tolerate any sort of threat to eachother or their daughter. I wonder how they will fit Alice in this, since she makes everyone, but Bella, think she's run off. She plays an important part in the end.
@Marion- Excatly! It is so exciting to see the pieces falling into place, no matter how many there are. It all centers around Edward, Bella, Renesmee and the survival of the Cullen Clan.

You skipped pages? I know it was crazy thick, but you missed out! You can't understand everything happening if you skipped parts of it. (I admit I did a bit that myself, in the sense that I read it so fast, I had to go back and re-read. But I went back.) These books are awesome, they have turned me from a TV junkie to an avid reader. I read 2-3 books at a time now, and I am writing a little of my own. I finished "Catcher in the Rye" yesterday,(Off-topic note: Rob would make a great Holden Caulfield!) and today Im going to pick up WFE at the library. I love reading the books and comparing them to the movies. You should know, the books are almost always better!

As a true fan of the books, I am THRILLED!!!!!! they they've cast all vampires involved in the witnessing and stand-off. These actors and actresses seem perfect for their roles and I cannot wait to see them decked out in their makeup and costumes and in character--though I think that probably won't be until the second movie. My FAVORITE book of all is Breaking Dawn and to see that, so far, they appear to be doing it right, is joy, joy, joy to my heart. (Disclaimer: The first time I read BD, it was NOT my favorite--it was my least favorite because I was crushed and disappointed that it didn't deliver what I thought I wanted. BUT, in the five re-reads since, it has become my favorite and I know I will continue to re-read it at least a couple times a year for many years to come.)
