It Will Rain - Lyrics under the CUT via lyricsfreak RPLife I made small corrections

If you ever leave me, baby
Leave some morphine at my door
'Cause it would take a whole lot of medication
To realize what we used to have,
We don't have it anymore.

There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor
So keep in mind all the sacrifices I'm makin'
Will keep you by my side
Will keep you from walkin' out the door.

Cause there'll be no sunlight
if I lose you, baby
There'll be no clear skies
if I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds,
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday, it will rain, rain, rain

I'll never be your mother's favorite
Your daddy can't even look me in the eye
Oooh if I was in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing
Sayin there goes my little girl
walkin' with that troublesome guy

But they're just afraid of something they can't understand
Oooh well little darlin' watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I'll try I'll try I'll try
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding
If that'll make you mine

Cause there'll be no sunlight
if I lose you, baby
There'll be no clear skies
if I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds,
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday, it will rain

Don't just say goodbye
don't just say, goodbye
I'll pick up these broken pieces 'til I'm bleeding
if that'll make it right

Cause there'll be no sunlight
if I lose you, baby
And there'll be no clear skies
if I lose you, baby
Just like the clouds,
My eyes will do the same if you walk away
Everyday, it will rain

hehe i think at the wedding? looking at my little girl walking to that trouble some guy? lol

Lovely song...I think is song fits the part when Bella is going through sickness and Edward Charlie are worried about her or when she is going through her 3 day transition after the birth.

Yassie said...

lol I just realized this is Charlie's theme song~!!! LOL

"seeing my little girl (Bella) walking towards that troublesome guy (Edward)..." <3

I agree. I just dont get it. Not typical Twilight Soundtrack fare. And that kinda irks me. A lot. Its a good song, I just cant stand the mainstream of it all...

Anonymous said...

I don't think its Jacob/Bella scene coz Bella did walk away from Jacob to marry Edward. This song is more like what will happen if you walk away. So it has to do with Bella & Edward, maybe the part when they were kinda arguing that the baby will kill her.He is afraid Bella will surely die... just guessing.

"IF YOU EVER LEAVE ME BABY, LEAVE SOME MORPHINE AT THE DOOR." HOOKED RIGHT FROM THE START.

HOLY HELL. GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

AND THE FIRST SONG IS A WINNER!!! BRUNO SAID HE WATCHED THE MOVIE AND GOT A FEEL FOR IT AND WROTE A SONG. I THINK HE ACHIEVED SOMETHING GREAT. I APPRECIATE HOW THE SONG LINKS THE RAINING OF FORKS TO THE EMOTIONS WITH THE SONG. VERY WELL DONE.

I AM SUCH A MUSIC WHORE, I JUST LOVE ANY AND ALL MUSIC THAT MAKES ME FEEL SOMETHING. MEANINGFUL LYRICS COUPLED WITH A GREAT SWEEPING SOUND AND GREAT VOICE. SOLD.

"KEEP IN MIND ALL THE SACRIFICES I AM MAKING, WILL KEEP YOU BY MY SIDE, KEEP YOU FROM WALKING OUT THE DOOR." GAAAAAAAH.

I LOVE BRUNO. I LOVE HIS VOICE AND HE IS INSANELY TALENTED.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I CANT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE. THIS SONG IS REALLY GREAT. IT HAS PSYCHED ME UP EVEN MORE FOR THE MOVIE!!!

"BUT THEY ARE JUST AFRAID OF SOMETHING THEY CAN'T UNDERSTAND. BUT, LITTLE DARLING, JUST WATCH ME CHANGE THEIR MINDS." GAAAAAAAAAH.

FIERCELY TALENTED, BRUNO.

"IF YOU WALK AWAY EVERYDAY IT WILL RAIN..." REALLY LIKE IT. Ahem, if you couldn't tell. REPLAY.

well maybe just maybe that part of " seeing my little girl walking towards that troublesome guy" it could be for edward mad at the idea of jacob imprinting on reenesme...well maybe

Wow the song is great!!!! I will be singing this all day. Great job! Woo!!

but i think its jake and bella because it contain lyrics don't say goodbye so maybe.

Khou said...

LOVE it!! I think it's great. Who cares if it's mainstream?! Not every song on the soundtrack needs to be Indie. It's got my stamp of approval :)

As for which scene....uh, maybe end credits? haha

Mon said...

Agree with @Aimzers84, the song is a bit too mainstream if you ask me.

I like the song, but I really don't get how it goes with BD.

"If you walk away"...that's more for Eclipse when Edward was worried B was going to pick Jacob...he never worries about her walking away in BD. Dying, yes, but leaving on her own free will? I don't think so.

I'm still a little upset Rob isn't on the cd, but i'm hoping that he'll be on the pt 2 soundtrack

I don't know you guys it might be a Jacob/Bella song? I know a lot of the lyrics lead you to believe it is about Edward and Bella, and it might be, but I'm thinking maybe the scene where Jacob and Bella are dancing in the woods at the wedding? They are going to play that scene up in a really emotional way and remind Bella of everything she is giving up (yet again) and I could kind of see that scene when I was listening to it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see! LOVE THE SONG !!!!

I really liked this, and I have a feeling that this will be an Edward and Bella song. I might be wrong, but I get that feel from it. Either way, I never liked Bruno Mars before, but this song made me a fan. Thanks for posting.

I like it. I think it may fit Charlie and Bella's relationship best, but who knows? Sometimes songs on a soundtrack don't always perfectly match a film.

Holy shit you guys have no idea, I am in love with the beautifully talented Bruno Mars; I have always loved him. He's my obsession. I'm in awe and a blissful state that he made a song for what is going to be my favorite movie.

LOVE the song. So happy :)

I definetiley love it! Especially the awesome melody and the very powerful lyrics. Like Sunny said, when I heard 'If you ever leave me baby, leave some morphine at the door' I immediately knew that this song will be great!!
Hmm, wondering where it will be in the movie... Maybe Jacob's and Bella's last dance... Or Belly who dies... Or from Charlie's point of view before the wedding... Okay, we just need to wait. But in the meantime I'll play this song many many times :)

dabby said...

oh wow!i'm a bruno mars fan.this is great!everyone has different perspective on who's themesong this would be :) for me this fits edward's..on the part where bella is going to die giving birth.it's so perfect on that scene.can't wait to see breaking dawn!thanks robstenation for keeping us updated.

This is a great song! I agree with what's been said with some others - I don't like how mainstream it is, though. Twilight soundtracks don't really 'do' mainstream. I don't know.

As for the placement in the movie. I'm leaning towards this being a Jacob song. However, I've definitely been wrong before when I've tried to pic song placements in the movie. If you're feeling the mood of the music as opposed to dissecting the lyrics, it could very well be played during a scene when Edward is depressed with Bella being sick.

Argh! So excited for Breaking Dawn!!!!

Anonymous said...

Personally i think this is between Jacob and Bella....but hmmmm

lawsy89 said...

this sounds like a song more for Jacob and his whiny feeling's then it does, for what Edward and Bella have to deal with... wouldn't be surprised if this plays when Bella and Jacob share their dance. But to have this and no muse is a big let down - I'm not feeling it! I'm not a fan of Bruno Mars and this is really showing me why, it's just blah! WTF were Summit thinking?

Lia A. said...

I agree that it's quite different from what is usually released as the main single/overall rock/independent sound for the previous films.

To me it feels like it's intended to tell the story of the pivotal parts of the narrative, not necessarily in a certain characters POV.

"But they're just afraid of something they can't understand
Oooh well little darlin' watch me change their minds
Yeah for you I'll try..."
- to me I picture the pack not understanding Bella's situation and Jake being the hero and removing himself from the pack and protecting her.

I quite like the bit...
"There's no religion that could save me
No matter how long my knees are on the floor..." - It's so poignant and I keep thinking of Edward and his belief that he is damned. Even more so since I picture him as the 'burning man' keeping vigil by his wife, furthering his disillusionment with religion because if there is a God why would he do this to Bella who's good and innocent. But mehh that's just me.

Anywho, not my usual cup of tea but it's getting replayed quite throughly right now so it's safe to say it is indeed growing on me :)

Thanks S for posting! Been waiting for this update!

I thought it's obvious that Edward's song, it's talking about his fear of losing Bella from the birth. how he is certain that he wouldn't know how to survive a life without her if she left (die) him

Milly said...

I like it. I've listened to it a few times, and it has grew on me. Its not what listen to usually, and I wouldn't go buy his album, but I like Bruno. For me there are other songs I'm more excited about on the soundtrack. :)
Well I first thought it was Jacob to Bella. When they are saying goodbye after the wedding, but it seems everyone disagree's lol ;)

OMG,I love this song and It's got to be an Edward/Bella song, just look at the words....I've got this on Replay, thank you Bruno, this is so beautiful!....

I really love it!! Very much. But its weird that Muse isnt on the soundtrack. No Band of Horses and no Rob..but well.. sooner or later we ll find out what hes been up to during this time that his girl is in London ;)

Nice :) Im a fan of Bruno Mars since he start releasing his great albums. I just love his voice. I think this song is the perfect fit and i don't care if anyone thinks this song is for bella and jacob LOL! howmaygod.

Ginger said...

Anon 3:30 I agree. Might be during Bella's afterbirth/turning into a vampire while Edward keeps vigil. I don't think it is related to Jacob due to the references @ her parents thoughts on him. Edward & Charlie have a tense relationship. Charlie is fond of Jacob up to this point in the series. Just my thoughts :)

Lins said...

I don't care if I'm lame...I like the song!

...and I think it's an Edward/Bella song but it relates to Charlie and Jacob too. =)

KPattz said...

I like the song, but i don't think it fits into the saga.IMO,Of course.I'd love something rock.

Anonymous said...

Personally, I think it has to be an Edward/Bella song b/c this is Breaking Dawn. It's all about Edward and Bella's relationship, and Edward facing the possibility that she may die. I don't see how the first song they release would be about Jacob/Bella. I like the song ans see how it could fit Edwards emotions.

Anonymous said...

i don't believe that my favorite singers made a song for my favorite movie !!! OMG OMG

Anonymous said...

Bruno Mars say "it will rain" is for the dark side of love,so imo is for Edward and Bella.I love the song and Bruno Mars!

Angela said...

@ginger I agree. I think it might be as Edward is trying to save Bella. If it is, this will make me an even more sobbing mess. The lyrics says it all.

this song is really growing on me.

Anonymous said...

Hum... I think the song is ok, but too "pop" for my taste... and for the saga.

Marion said...

The song is good, however I think it will be used during the end credits. Ususally the first single for a Twilight soundtrack always ends up being on the end credits, instead of being heard during the film. I can't wait to hear the soundtrack as a whole and I'm really excited to hear the wedding version of Flightless Bird. I think the overall tone of the BD soundtrack will be dark and romantic,it'll be great.

ElizabethMC said...

I don't hate it. At least it is not a cheesy song that would make R & K cringe to support it.

Anonymous said...

I think is Jacob/Renesmee song. Listen to it!!! It does not make sense anywhere else ;-)

Texasgal said...

Truthfully.... not loving it. After a few listens it might grow on me but maybe not. Bruno Mars is an amazing singer I'm just not a fan.

Anonymous said...

I love this song. I think it will be played while Bella's thinking of Edward for all the sacrifices she's making to be with him. Thank you so much for posting it and sharing it with us.

atiaofthejulii1 said...

It's not that it's not a pretty song, it's ok but as someone mentioned above it's very commerical. This isn't indy sounding like all the other soundtracks. This is just ok.

Anonymous said...

The more I listen to it - the more I love it! The opening line is completely Twilight!!!

I'm laughing at those who say it's a little main stream. I remember when the indi crowd would get mad that their artists were on Twilight (Metric anybody??) And now some aren't happy that a main stream artist wants to be on what started out as "a little vampire movie."

But what has always been great about Twilight is that it brings all different types together, from 9 to 90. Why should the music be any different. What ties us all together is the love story. B/E and R/K and the spark that they create in our own lives to find and keep our own loves.

I absolutely love this song. I just left a previous message that I thaught it would be played while Bella's thinking of Edward, after reading the lyrics, it's definitely Edward thinking of Bella, probably while he's getting reading for the wedding.
p.s. I love how these movies chronicles and so synonymous to their personal lives; which is something they can show to their children later on. I know I've spinned the wheel a bit, but I don't see these guys ever breaking up which is beautiful.

jolieliz said...

good song, but for some reason it doesn't seem to fit into the twilight world for me. too r&b I guess. still, anything written for twilight has a home in my heart:)

margaret said...

Everyone it has been confirmed to be in the first movie, BTW i love it and I believe its edward and bella somewhere. lol Not exactly sure where though yet.

Can I tell you that your blog is amazing and that even though I don't comment very much I always come here to check the news? thanx:-)

I LOVE the song! I can't wait until the movie comes out!!!! :o)

Anonymous said...

I really love it,

I get what people are saying about it not being indy enough....but if I was scoring for these movies, I would want a very different sound track for the first movie, (something more mainstream and upbeat to reflect the normality and happiness of the early scenes wedding/honeymoon) and then descend into Muse etc teritory for Part 2 when we get to the action sequences and the standard twilight angst !!

HollandGirl said...

@anon 9.40/Heather Well said bb!! And I think there will be enough indie-music to keep everybody satisfied. I love indie-music too, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate this song!

Maria from Greece said...

Have to add my comment although I'm late to check in: pleasant to the ear but that's as far as it goes. I could easily see it in the end credits of a rom-com. I expected sth a little more atmospheric, sorry...

Delle1 said...

I just have to add this,PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE one of you brilliant Robsten vid makers,we need this song in a vid STAT,oh and Thank you in advance!

Anonymous said...

I haven't read all of the comments, but this sounds perfect for the period of time where Bella is being tranformed into a vampire and Edward is just watching her and hoping it works!

KstewLegs said...

I love the song! :) I find it cool that they try to put different styles in the soundtrack!

Moe said...

I know, I'm late to the party, just want to say that I like the song and can imagine it to fit to Bella's sickness when Edward is afraid of losing her.

Anonymous said...

It´s diffrent from the usual soundtrack but fits in in some way lol do I make sense? anyways i like it :) I think it'll be in the credits like all the other main songs...

Anonymous said...

Only two days and I already know all the lyrics ;)

Anonymous said...

This song is way too commercial. It does not seem to fit in with the whole feel of the other soundtracks, at all. Hope they don't ruin this soundtrack. I have been waiting for it to come out. Although I love the other band they chose for the part where Bella is in the bathroom during the honeymoon. Great Song. That's more like it!

Anonymous said...

I think i finally have it .......

hi guys .... long time lurker ..... Thank u for all the Robsten love S!!!
n i had to finally comment!

As i sed i think i have an idea bout this beautiful song ...... cos i deffo think it is a beautiful song.

But like many i was confused by the sentiment??? if u walk away??? huh no one is threatening to walk away in Breaking Dawn.
As every one pointed out it sounds like an Edward song ..... "your father cant even look me in the eye" etc. But i could never figure the "i'll never be your mothers favourite " Renee has no prob with Edward not really lol?
AND hating to be picky but "they'll be no sunshine" ..... erm our vamps kinda dnt mind that haha!!
Anyway was reading BD again and say the bits where Bella points out that she spots Jake looking at Remesmee and it like a man seeing the sun for the 1st time and things slowly kinda clicked ......

I'll never be your mothers favourite ...... well Jacob deffo isnt Bellas favourite Edward is ..... n Edwards not looking him in the eye figurativley speaking lol the biggest part of BD is Bella becoming a mother aswell as marrying Edward ...... n i think the song is from Jakes point of view about the imprinting .....

Jake does think of himself as trouble and he deffp could never be parted from Renesmee once he's imprinted from her and it would cause him huge sadness

Anyway i could go on ...... and im sorry for the essay already haha!!
and of course i could be totally wrong!? thats what i love about this part .... the trying to figure it out lol!

cheers

Sarah
