There’s speculation in the wind that Robert Pattinson has been tapped for this project (I would assume as one of the vengeful sons). He had a meeting late last year with Angelina’s lawyer, Robert Offer--and a “celebratory” dinner, too--so his recent trip to see Salt with his agent is suddenly rife with new possibility. You know what? I like this, too. Pattinson needs a non-romantical role. He needs something that has nothing to do with how pretty he is and would actively work against his appeal. As Fight Club turned Brad Pitt from pretty boy to man’s man, so could a violent, explosive role transform Pattinson.

I hope this remains a rumor. First, I do not like Angelina Jolie, let's just say I love Jennifer Aniston to high heavens. Acting wise, I'm also not impressed. But this particular move about Rob's career, that is what excites me about this rumor. I agree that Rob needs a non-romantic role soon. Could this be 'that' role? The role sounds very interesting and the story line is pretty solid. Ok, kiddies, this is classified as 'rumor'- so you know the drill. Truck loads of 'salt'. Pardon the pun.

Lots of funny reaction to this rumor. One is Angelina might turn on her maternal instincts and adopt Rob. lol and that Rob has 'plans' that is why he is considering this. He is hoping that Angelina's maternal instincts (again) might rub on Kristen. lmao. If that is the case, I'd say postpone Breaking Dawn and prioritize this project first. Like NOW. hahaha

To be perfectly honest, Angelina Jolie is really not doing herself any favours in the acting stakes, time after time she takes the actionpacked thriller role, not showcasing her *if she has that is* acting talents, (I don't mean that as bluntly as it sounds)

Lainey hates Rob because back when they were filming New Moon, Lainey strated the rumor of "supposed" Rob+NR hook-up. But Rob just came right out and dinied it in an interview (while promoting Little Ashes, i think.)He's neither confirmed nor denyed his rumored relatiionships in the past. Not even when people still linked his name with Camilla Belle. And certainly not with Kristen. This made Lainey looked really bad, because everybody knew she's teamed up with NR to spread the rumor to keep the media away from reporting Robsten. Since then she's strated trashing Rob on her blog. If you dig up her earlier entries on Twilight or Robsten related post, you'd be suprised that once upon a time, she loved our precious Rob and Kristen!

I agree with what's been said about the role, it would be nice to see Rob in a non-romantic role. I would like to see him branch out, and do films like Leonardo DiCaprio or Brad Pitt (who are both great actors). However, I do not care too much for Angelina Jolie. I think she is a fantastic actress (if you don't agree, please watch Changeling, she's amazing in it), but I don't care too much for her personally. Which is not very nice of me to say, cause I don't know her, so I'm basically doing what people do towards Kristen (judging her from small clips of reality, or not even reality). But oh well...enough ranting from me. Let's just wait and see what happens! :)

From what I have read on IMDB, the role he would play would not be a love interest with Angelina. I'm not a fan of hers either (Team Jen), but this role could be a good opportunity for him if the rumor is true.

I was a little worried about commenting on this update bc, I do like Angelina, and I didn´t want to cause a debate about it, but since I´m not alone in liking her, then I do think that Rob could benefit from a different type of role, and since Angelina is the no.1 female action star, than maybe it could be cool, he´s been very smart about choosing his roles so far, lets hope this will be good for him.
On another point, I think Kristen doesn´t like Angelina Jolie, or maybe her roles or actions regarding Brad Pitt, but I believe that a husband or wife could not be stolen unless they want to be, Brad had trouble in his marriage (I still don´t buy the whole not having kids thing) he wanted a family and he got one, with Angelina, I guess they where on the same wavelength, and also if you think about it, it kinda resembles our lovely couples history, she was with MA happy and together, and she met Rob and fell in love, does that mean Rob´s a home-wrecker??

i agree that rob can do more challenging roles to showcase his talent but i dont agree that he needs angelina to do that. there are so many better actors and actresses in hollywood that he can team up with to do a really good movie. puhleez!

If they can help it, I am sure Rob and Kristen will always take on versatile roles that "speak" to them. I have confidence that I will enjoy their future choices, whether they be supporting roles or being the main actors. In the EW interview last year, Rob admired Ryan Gosling's career, and Kristen said Catherine Keener. Both talented, but not totally mainstream actors. I don't fault other actors for choosing the tried and true route (always doing action/rom-com/whatever they're known for), but R and K are so strong that they won't sell-out and play it safe.
Shaui, I'm with you. Don't like Angelina Jolie either. Yes, I like Jennifer but even without Angelina/Brad thing, I still don't like Angelina. Her films are just so commerical and she's always portraysed as a sex bomb. I don't like that kind of image of any actress. Very typical Hollywood I'd say. I guess that's why we find Kristen a breath of fresh air.
I don't think it's good for Rob to do commerical stuff right now as he's establishing his status as a serious actor but not just a teen idol or heartthrob.
And, I think the comparsion between R/K and A/B is very inappropriate. Don't want to be drama creater so I won't go into deatils. Just sayin'
