TheHollywood Reporter It's official: 9-year-old Mackenzie Foy will play Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward's (Robert Pattinson) daughter, Renesmee, in "Breaking Dawn," the series' author Stephenie Meyer confirmed on Facebook late Wednesday.
"Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy," wrote Meyer. "She's an amazing young actress and I'm excited to work with her." The newcomer has appeared in TV shows "FlashForward" and "'Til Death."
Director Bill Condon is expected to use similar special effects as David Fincher in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" to show Foy aging 17 years over the span of seven years. EW.com, which first reported the story, said that Summit may also employ younger actors in scenes.
The movie is set to hit theaters in two parts: the first on November 18, 2011, and the second on November 16, 2011. Filming begins this November in Baton Rouge, La

Wow, so it's offical now?! Very exciting about all the new casting, especially the Denali coven, I think they all look perfect for the different parts. And I also think Mackenzie will be great, she has that sweet adorable look that Renesmee needs to have, so now it's all up to CGI I guess to work some magic with the aging of her :)

I have a horrible cold, and I think I have a temperature, too, and every part of my body is aching. But Robsten and you guys always make everything better:)

Wow,Robs' finally got his baby....he's gonna make a great dad and I can't wait to see the interaction between him,Kristen and MacKenzie....I wonder when they'll meet her....how adorable.

t think there is going to be any big interaction between renesmee and edward because it was not in the book.there was only one time when he was asking rensmee to help when charlie was about to come.but i really want more of their relationship onscreen and less jacob.it is going to be interesting how bill will show it up on stage.
@Delle1, I agree! Can't wait to see the interaction between Rob, Kristen and Mackenzie (wonder if she has a nickname, like Mac or kenzie?) I hope her parents are prepared for what's about to happen to their little girl! Fans love her already.
Good morning. I'm here...just really tough this week. My mother had a stroke and she's still at the hospital in Manila. My head seemed to be exploding the other day for crying too much. Prayers are working their way to her...I think she's a little bit better...awake, conscious and talking.
The Robsten news lift me up little bit so I thank you Shaui for that.

There's plenty of interaction between Edward and Renesmee. The story is from Bellas perspective, though, so its kind of glossed over. Remember when Nessie is "telling" Mommy Bella about her days without her and she sees Edward holding her, humming her lullaby over and over, bellas in the background on the table. Then theres parts where it just reads that Bella and Edward and Nessie are ALWAYS together. They go hunting as a family and everything. Those moments happen, they just run through them quickly.

The 'Jacob' parts of BD1 cannot be removed. Jacob actions are too central to the direction of the storyline, plus he imprints on Nessie. I'm totally looking forward to all the moments with Bella and Edward, but I don't want the story to be changed. BD is my fave of all the books, I think it's Stephanies' too. I really hope they have the part where Bella attacks Jacob with Edward in the background saying, "Amazing, isn't she?" when Bella realizes Jacob imprinted on her baby. that was hilarious! I get so excited thinking about all the possibilities.

@Anonymous 12:02- I am a little concerned as well that Edward won't get his big moments. I know they will have to leave out a lot that isn't crucial to the plot, but it seems the stuff that gets left out in the other films, were things that I loved about Edward. The way he would do anything, be anything for Bella, how he takes care of her and puts her before himself, how his life evolves around her and Nessie. His devotion seems to get lost in translation. As far as Bill Condon goes, he is an award winning director, he has the best people working with him on these next 2 films. I take comfort in that. And Summit wants the fans happy, most of all because if BD1 isn't satisfying, BD2 will lose money. So they will put all they can into making it good for the fans and the only way to do it is to stay as close to the book as possible. Which sounds great, but it really boils down to his interpretation of the book. I am glad that SM is a credited producer, it will give her more pull. If they stick to the book, as much as possible, showing the changes and developments of the relationships between the 3 main characters the movie should be EPIC. HEre's to hoping!! XXXX

@grlnxtdoor2u IA with you that after 3 movies Edward's devotion to Bella didn't translate as much as in the books but it wouldn't hurt to try (again) to be a little positive about BD. :)

I get more and more excited about BD when I see pics of this beautiful child....trying to keep my expectations of the movies in check with reality, but am still so excited to see them. BD was actually not overall my favorite book of the series, but parts of it were completely awesome, and I can't wait to see it on screen.
Prayers go out to all the commenters who are experiencing illness personally or in their families. I am still new to this site and don't "know" everybody, but still love coming here and basking in R/K heaven while enjoying the positive environment!

I'm positive about BD, at least I think I am. I have my minor concerns but Im quite sure it will totally ROCK, even if it doesnt have all the stuff I want in it. If only I were an award winnig, totally talented movie director that had the skills to take on the massive responsilbility of this franchise! A girl can dream.
I am working on a script, but it has nothing to do with vampires. In my head, though, the male lead is Rob.
You know what I just thought? Of course not, I'll explain.....I keep seeing that Nessie will be aged to 17, the book leaves off with her still the size of a five yearl-old; I wonder if they are going to make her appear older for the final battle or put off Jacob imprinting on her until she looks his age OR if they will be brave and delve into the future, Edward makes his suspicions known that they Volturie will try to pick them off seperately in the future, I wonder what direction they will take.....Either one would be a nice twist.
