Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - "New Moon" has outsold its predecessor "Twilight" in advance ticket sales. According to movie ticketing company Fandango, the vampire romance sequel currently dominates the site's ticket sales by 75 percent.
The film, based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer, is set to hit theaters next week, November 20. Thousands of Thursday night's midnight showtimes are already sold-out across the country, but tickets are still available in some areas, while new slots are added regularly to keep up with the fans' demands.
Fandango COO Rick Butler said, "Ever since we started selling advance tickets to New Moon on August 31, the demand has been unstoppable, as the fan base just keeps growing every day."
"New Moon is tracking to be Fandango's #1 top advance ticket-seller of all time."
It currently ranks fourth in the company's advance ticket-seller list, toppling "Twilight" which previously held the spot.
