Garrett Hedlund and OTR Producer talk Kristen and Film Status

Photobucket
Celebuzz-TarynRyder  Garrett and Kristen came out to support Chris Weitz at his premiere for A Better Life Tuesday night at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and while Stewart didn’t do any interviews, Celebuzz snagged Garett for a hot second.

Here is what he had to say about the status of the film, and working with pal Kristen.

Hedlund was on the arm of his On the Road producer Rebecca Yeldham, who is also the director of the Los Angeles Film Festival. Garrett has been with her throughout LAFF, and the two played coy when we tried to get the status of the flick.

You are just going to have to ask the producer I have with me,” smiled Garrett, looking at Rebecca.

Let’s see, well the status is we are in post-production, I can’t really say much more. Except that [the movie] is awesome,” Yeldham replied.

Possibly putting two and two together (since the utterly fantastic film by Weitz A Better Life was done by Summit), we asked if Summit snagged the rights to On the Road, since Hedlund showed his support Tuesday.

Umm,” laughed Garrett again playing coy. “It’s all in discussion,” chimed in Rebecca, with a knowing smile. “We haven’t made any decisions yet.”

As for working with Kristen, Garrett said the experience was “wonderful.” “She’s a great actress, she’s awesome. It was a lot of fun.”

They all love each other. We all love each other,” laughed Rebecca. “Hopefully we can tell you all more soon!”

E!OnLine- Garrett Hedlund is a man of (not) many words. Even so, I did get the chance to chat with him at the Maui Film Festival, where he was honored with the Rising Star Award. Yes, Twi-hards, we talked about his On The Road costar Kristen Stewart…“The great thing about being a great actress is you can do everything and I think she can do anything she wants,” Hedlund said when I asked about Stewart’s upcoming turn as Snow White. He laughed when I joked about him hitting her up for a Twilight gig. “No, I never asked her for a part,” he said. “Which part would I ask her for?” As Hedlund first told me in December, “[Stewart] was signed on to the movie before the first Twilight ever hit theaters. She’s so good and she’s so devoted. She’s such an incredibly hard worker.” In the pic, based on Jack Keourac’s Beat Generation classic of the same name and directed by Walter Salles, Hedlund plays the character based on the late Neal Cassady. Hedlund and Salles recently met Carolyn Cassady, Neal’s second wife. “It was an era that changed so many people’s lives in the last 50 years or so,” Hedlund said. “It was a movement that was powerful and I feel so privileged to be a part of the film.”

“It’s great. Everybody’s great. I mean Kristen’s such a phenomenal actress and you know I’m so happy for her. And you know I think all of us will kind of agree saying that it was one of the best times of our lives. I mean Sam Riley who’s playing Kerouac in this, you know… incredible. That guy’s gonna be my brother for the rest of my life."

source - Garrett Hedlund says filming the big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic "On The Road" with Kristen Stewart was an unforgettable experience.

"It was wonderful," he told Access Hollywood at the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards on Saturday. "It was such an incredible rare journey that we all got to take, so I'm very proud of it. My anticipation is just as high as every body else's about it,"

"Kristen's phenomenal, she's so focused, especially on this role... she's so amazing and the world is going to get to really see that in this one. I signed on to the role like four years ago and so for the last four years I've just been twiddling thumbs trying to get the thing made, and hoping for it to be made and so it's finally done."

Garrett Hedlund talks about 'On the Road' Scenes with Kristen

E!OnLine -Marc Malkin Thankfully, Robert Pattinson doesn't seem like the jealous type.

Because if he was… He may have a problem watching the upcoming movie adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road.

As y'all know, Kristen Stewart stars in the Walter Salles-directed film opposite Country Strong's hunk of hotness Garrett Hedlund. The two do lock lips in the flick. "There's a few," Hedlund tells me of his and K.Stew's more intimate scenes.

However, what will make the cut is anybody's guess. Hedlund insists, "Walter didn't even watch dailies while we were filming," he says. "You know, there just wasn't the budget for it. We just kept pushing forward and pushing forward."

So when will we see the movie? "I think the end of the year or early next year," he divulges.

It's been quite a few months for Mr. Hedlund. Not only was the Minnesota native in Country Strong, he also held his own opposite Jeff Bridges in the Tron sequel.

He's taking a break right now, but says he'd love to work with True Grit directors Joel and Ethan Coen. "They're just two of the greatest people I've ever met," he says.

"And," he adds with a big Midwestern smile, "they're from Minnesota!"
____

In film-making, 'dailies' usually refer to any raw/unedited footage filmed within the day. This is usually reviewed by the director with the actors to see how they are progressing in their work.

John Allen Cassady talks about meeting Kristen and the OTR Cast + New Pics

John Allen Cassady was in England visiting his mother, Carolyn Cassady, when he got the call from Walter Salles, Director of "On The Road". Walter wanted to know if John would be willing to interrupt his visit with Carolyn so he could meet and give a talk to the cast and crew of the movie while they were filming in Montreal. Walter promised a round trip flight from London to Montreal and that John would be back at his mum's place in a few days. John only wanted to know one thing: "Will I get to meet Kristen Stewart?" He was assured he'd meet everyone so John boarded that silver bird.

They picked John up in a limo and delivered him to a five star hotel in Montreal. To his chagrin, Kristen wasn't waiting there for him. They brought him to a party where he met everyone. He spoke to people he recognized and people he didn't. John took photos with disposable cameras because he'd left his digital back in London. He took pictures of everyone and everything. The next day he's having lunch with the producers and asks, "So when do I get to meet Kristen Stewart?" "John," they said, "You met her last night. You flirted shamelessly for hours. You got photos of the two of you together." John didn't know what she looked like! "And I wasn't even drinking," he said.

Back in London John got all his pictures developed. One of them was lost by the photo company. It was the one with all the photos of John and Kristen Stewart. "Story of my life," John said.

Kristen Stewart at La Angostura
"She is the young actess of the moment: the star of Twilight Saga and girlfriend of Robert Pattinson, the most wanted single man from the new wave of Hollywood stars... step by Neuquen to shoot scenes for her new movie, On the road. Despite the mystery and low Profile, the girl who falls in love with vampires, werewolves and gentlemen around the world speak with PEOPLE.

La Patagonia Rebelde
Hotel Las Balsas, Wednesday, August 25 19.15 pm, a truck arrives Hyundai golden, where comes a bodyguard of three meters (well, maybe less, better not get too close to check it) frightens us. I just want to say hello to Kristen, we love her. We face fans, but the giant does not flinch. We pretend the most profound sadness "Please, please!" He insists. Then she lowers the truck and walks over to greet us. Time is short.

Can we take some pictures? (Kristen smiles and shows her charm. Apologizes and says she can’t).
“I would love to, but I’m not allowed. A picture already appeared in twitter and we are trying to keep the shooting a secret. Really, I’m sorry, but I’m not allowed. Maybe next time. I must come to Argentina more often.”(Kristen comes out of her van after the fans say they want to say hi)

What have you seen of Argentina”
“Not too much”
“Have you tried ‘dulce de leche’?”
“Not yet, what’s that?”
It’s hard to explain. It’s something very sweet. And ‘mate’?
“Oh yeah, everybody has it; but I haven’t tried it either”
Can you sign our books?
“Yeah, I’ll be delighted”

P.S. Dulce de leche is a typical sweet from Argentina (used in desserts) and mate a typical beverage.
(Kristen smiles and shows their charm. We apologize, explain that you can not)

Then Marina and Gimena, who traveled from Buenos Aires to meet her, gave her their copy of Twilight. Kristen, diligently and happy, take her precious pen, signs and thanks the fans.
