Adam Scott and Charlie Simpson Mention Rob's Music

WallStreet Journal 'Parks and Recreation' Star Sounds Off on Other Famous People
In honor of the new “Parks & Recreation” season, we went souvenir shopping on Canal Street with Scott last week. Herewith, some of his thoughts on other celebrities, explained while perusing Obama mugs and “I Heart NY” t-shirts:

On Rob Pattinson: “No, he is not putting out an album! God, I don’t understand actors who put out albums. I don’t think anyone should take being a famous actor as a cue that it’s time put out an album. I mean, can you imagine how many album he’ll sell? So many. So why not, I guess. That would be cool if he came out with an album of really weird growly rock. I would love that, but I fear it’ll be navel-gazing acoustic balladry that’ll make me want to kill myself.” via

Press Party Charlie Simpson says that he'd love to duet with Robert Pattinson.
Charlie Simpson says that he would jump at the chance to duet with Twilight star, Robert Pattinson. The former Busted member says that Pattinson has got a great voice and he's love to work with him:

"I heard one of his songs, I think it was on the Twilight soundtrack, someone said I should check out his stuff. [A duet] would be awesome, I'd be well up for that".
Simpson's band, Fightstar, are currently on hiatus and the singer released a solo album, 'Young Pilgrim', in August.

Rumor: Rob Recording an Album? GossipCop and MTVNews Update

Another Update MTV News
Contrary to online rumors, 'Breaking Dawn' star has no plans to drop an LP, rep confirms to MTV News.  His legions of hopeful fans will be sad to hear it, but despite reports and rumors to the contrary, Robert Pattinson is not recording an album.

On Tuesday (September 20), Us Weekly reported that the "Twilight" superstar was itching to record his own songs, but according to the magazine's two sources, he felt torn between his acting commitments and his love of music. The story further alleged that the 25-year-old would be putting together a guitar-based record in the next few weeks, before the promotional tour for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" kicks into gear.

MTV News reached out to Pattinson's rep, who told us, "The report is untrue. He is not working on an album right now."
Of course, that is not to say Pattinson might not record music someday — he has previously recorded "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign" for the original "Twilight" soundtrack — but it's not happening now.

When we caught up with "Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon at Comic-Con, he confirmed that there would be some familiar musical themes weaved into the fourth film, courtesy of composer Carter Burwell, who scored the first movie. And while the director would not confirm Pattinson's inclusion on the soundtrack, he hinted that some of the musically inclined castmembers might lend their talents.
"We're just figuring out [the soundtrack] now," Condon said during MTV News' "Breaking Dawn" Comic-Con takeover. "We have a lot of [songs]. We have like 15, I think."

UpdateGossipCop Robert Pattinson is “prepping to record an album imminently,” reports Us Weekly.
Sources for the mag say that Pattinson, who’s has previously recorded two songs featured on the original Twilight soundtrack, “has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn’t allow it.”Adds one of the sources, “Now he’s got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn.”

But when asked if the actor and talented musician is currently planning on recording an album, an impeccable Pattinson insider tells Gossip Cop, “He is not.”

We’re reaching out to more sources to see if there is a timetable for an upcoming Pattinson record, and we’ll update as more information comes in.

Original article from US Magazine-Exclusive  Robert Pattinson, rock star? The British actor, 25, is prepping to record an album imminently, two sources tell Us Weekly.

"Rob has been kicking a few original songs around for a long time, but his schedule didn't allow it," one insider explains of the superstar, who recorded two songs, "Never Think" (which he co-wrote with pal Sam Bradley) and "Let Me Sign" for the original Twilight soundtrack.

"Now he's got some weeks to get everything in line before going back to promoting Breaking Dawn."
But don't expect a chart-topping album with broad mass appeal and a string of top 40 hits. "The album Rob will make will be guitar-based and drums, very organic-sounding, nothing pop," explains a second source of the indie-music fan, "Like stripped-down Ray LaMontagne meets Van Morrison."

Pattinson frequently had hotel room jam sessions with other Twilight pals while shooting the flicks in Vancouver and elsewhere. His Twilight costar (and fellow musician) Jackson Rathbone said Kristen Stewart's man "loves to play the blues. He can hold his own on a guitar. We enjoyed jamming together when we had the time. Very humble and quiet guy.

"Music is his first love!" says the second source. "He's tortured because he avoids it. When he's sitting around jamming in the studio, it's his favorite moment of life."  To prep for the recording session, the guitar player has been "studying on on other instruments -- like piano and horns," the first source reveals. "It's an obsession for him."

RollingStone already picked up the story. "As of yet, it's unclear what label will release the music or when it will hit stores." via cupidscloud

Marcus Foster Talks about 'Let Me Sign' In New Interview

Photobucket

'Let Me Sign' brought you to a lot of people's attention through the Twilight soundtrack. Were you happy with how Robert Pattinson performed it?
It’s really great. Originally that song was a bit of a joke, it was a clapping song that me and my friend wrote together and he turned it into this really serious, moody song. So it was quite funny. But it was great, we worked it out together and I really like it.

Lee MacDougall Talks about Rob and the song 'How to Be' In Latest Interview.

RP News had the chance to interview the talented, Lee MacDougall where he talked extensively about his music, his inspiration, and his future plans. Here are some excerpts.

Can you share some background/on the lyrics/inspiration/story behind How To Be'?

My friend Robert Pattinson told me about a movie he was making called "How To Be" and that he was to play a guy who was a bit of a super loser. He said the guy wanted to be a singer, but couldn't really sing, and his girlfriend dumps him, and he is just generally a bit lost with his life and doesn't really know where he's going. I thought it sounded really funny, and a good idea for a song, and being both actors and musicians struggling to achieve a higher degree of success at the time, I think we could both identify a little with the character. I said that I was going to try and write the theme tune for the movie based on what he had told me and I went home and wrote it in a couple of days. I went back to his house and played it to everyone and everybody really liked it, so I gave Rob a CD to give to the people doing the movie. Unbeknown to us though, I think the soundtrack had already been selected and I was too late, so it never made the cut. I didn't mind too much because soon after I started to play the song live and it got such a great reaction from the crowd that I just decided to keep it for myself. I always have to tell the story behind it when I play it because people still assume it's about me! The amusing thing is, looking back at it though and how I felt at the time, I think it probably is semi-autobiographical.

You play gigs with Lizzy Pattinson once in a while, but fans want to know if you would you like to collaborate with Rob Pattinson musically in the future and have you ever played together?

Yes we have - but only if you count jamming on the piano in his living room! We've never done an actual gig together, although he did used to come and watch my shows in London. Rob is a really natural musician, he's amazing on the piano - although he always claims he doesn't really know what he's doing, but I think he's just very modest. We have quite different styles, but that can often produce the best results. Of course if the chance ever presented itself to collaborate I think it would be great, and a lot of fun. Would you guys like to see Rob and I collaborate?

Rob in People Mag's Secret Celebrity Musicians

Robert Pattinson does more than just act as a brooding vampire for the Twilight series. The heartthrob, who plays both piano and guitar, also contributed music to the Twilight soundtrack, "Let Me Sign" and "Never Think." "I cried the first time I heard the two songs," director Catherine Hardwicke told MTV. "They're deep; they're very soulful.

Let's not forget that according to the girlfriend. “He's a great singer. Heartbreaking."
