Daniel Radcliffe mentions Rob in New Interview, talks Fame

DenofGeek Does it seem weird that you said if you attach yourself to the project that it would get the green light?
DR: This project was already far enough along and had enough people behind it, including the Hammer name to be getting it going, I was just the final thing that was needed.
You’re being modest…
DR: I promise it’s not false modesty though. There are very, very few actors whose name you know… even people like me and Rob Pattinson, who are at the moment big names and bankable – whatever that means – there are very few actors whose saying yes to something would mean a green light for that film. I think probably George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Johnny Depp, are the only three that have that kind of pull, and that comes from how they’ve had very long careers and are universally respected as actors and as professionals. So there’s a long way to go before we’re at that stage.

But it is also a very nice thing to know that you are going to be able to help get films made that otherwise might not get made. Particularly, I’m in a position now where I am very fortunate financially on Potter, so I don’t have to work for the money now, and I can just do things that interest me. I like the idea of not having to do stuff for the money, and if I want to, I can pick indie projects for the rest of my life and be quite happy doing that.  Read in full

Yes, S. These are really a new generation of artists for whom integrity ranks way above interest. Artists who will not sell their souls or play the money game.
Chapeau to all of them, I say.
Cheers!

Those period clothes do something extraordinary for both of these men! The level of manliness and sexiness is off the charts. Not to be superficial but if Radcliffe had just as much height as Rob he would be equally HOT and that would make for double the chances of getting with one of these hottie British babes. lol. I've always had a thing for English boys, since I was 11, I swear.

@anon 1:04am, I think it's because the media journalists themselves are fascinated with Robert (whether they respect him or not), not just the fans. I mean, my god, there is no one like him, there are not enough words to describe his amazing physicality, he's incredibly funny and charming, constantly laughs under his breath, I think he even looks way better than James Dean. The media is obsessed with him because he is really something rare that comes along in Hollywood and they know they will never see anything like him again for a long time....Off topic, Joseph Morgan is really handsome too, but still not better looking than Rob, although I think Joseph and KRisten would be a good on-screen pairing. LoL :) I just had to throw that in, hehe.

I really, really like Dan R. but think that it would be better for him not to mention Rob, try to look like Rob, say things that Rob says or equate himself with Rob. In my opinion, it looks like jealousy. Dan has his own wonderful true colors and should just be himself. He is already famous, talented, handsome and smart. Probably nice, too. Rob is totally unique and it won't help anyone in the long run to try to be him or hang on to his coat tails for a ride upward ... just sayin. ... just my opinion.

@anon 7:38, that's why we love Rob, he is one of the most humblest of male actors around.

but IA, he shouldn't have mentioned Rob, although I think he's correct in saying that they both have a long way to go in terms of being universally respected (proof? Rob's fans are almost all female, where are his male fans?). However, I think Robert has shown that he has plenty of range and I think after Cosmopolis, he will gain some male fans. Proof by example is Leonardo di caprio, I remember after Titanic, many men called him gay and pretty much bashed him. I don't think he was able to deal with all the attention like Robert has even though the attention is even crazier with Robert. Leo went into hiding and started dating all these models, made crappy movies like that re-make of Romeo and Juliet and that beach movie. What I'm saying is I don't think he made good film decisions after Titanic. The last movie that he made that I thought was ok was Blood Diamond. I am not saying he's not talented, just that it took a while before the male audience started to accept him. Unfortunately, I think it will be much harder for Robert unless he continues to press on with movies geared more towards the male audience. But Leo got passed it and I believe Robert will too. The male audience will be more accepting of him as time goes by.
