While some may ponder existentialism, "Twilight: New Moon" star Robert Pattinson thinks about his"economic viability" after the role that made him a star is no more.
Pattinson is questioning himself all the more since he's gone from struggling actor to all-out box office draw. The pitfalls of being a heartthrob... Sheesh, it must be unbearable.
The actor told MTV Radio recently that the new year looks to be as hectic as 2009 with all the new projects coming his way.
"It's definitely different... you get offered stuff that you would never dream of getting offered before, but that's also scary. You don't have to audition for anything. [But] I don't want to do a movie just so it gets made... You have to question yourself a lot more," he said.
Pattinson went on to say being new to the blockbuster limelight, he's nervous about having that same draw in, how do we say, "non-sparkly" roles.
"I've only done one movie outside of the 'Twilight' series, but even that I did with the same studio, so I guess I'm still a little bit blind as to what my actual economic viability will be outside of the series," he said. "Before 'Twilight,' I did any movie that I got [offered], and you'd try and make the best of it afterwards. But now, you're expected to come into the movie and provide not only economic viability, but also a performance as well. You can't just mess around. People are like, 'We're employing you to be here, as a star and an actor.' It's difficult, and it's scary."
We hear you, Robert. We hear you Being an actor and a star is a lot for a young bloke. But hey, someone's gotta do it.
