People Longtime lovebirds Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made a rare semi-public appearance together during the Oscar weekend in Los Angeles.
The couple attended WME's Grey Goose-hosted pre-Oscar bash at agent Ari Emanuel's house and were "quite affectionate" in front of other revelers, a source says. Adds the source: "[They] seemed very comfortable and sweet with each other." The duo mingled with guests such as the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus and beau Liam Hemsworth.
The following night, the two stepped out for dinner at Il Covo, where they were joined by four friends, including actress Mia Wasikowska for their meal on the restaurant's patio. The couple were the last to arrive at the party, and they each sipped a beer. Later, Stewart ordered a tequila cocktail. Unlike at the WME party, at dinner the couple kept their PDA to a minimum. June is still two days away, but with the 2011 movie season edging close to the halfway mark, it's becoming painfully apparent Hollywood is in for one humdinger of a competitive awards season. The fireworks won't really begin until the Venice/Telluride/Toronto triumvirate of festivals at the beginning of September, but with studios setting their fourth quarter release dates, hot Cannes titles getting acquired and buzz leaking about what contenders have already been screened it's hard not to see the wheels already in motion. Taking all that into account, here are 10 topics of interest that should hold you over until August. And besides, it's never really to early to talk Oscar, is it?
It's a year of ingenues
We'll talk about Ms. Streep's chances at finally winning a third best actress prize in a minute, but 2012 is clearly looking like the younger ladies could dominate both acting races. From Ryan Seacrest 83rd Annual Academy Award producer Bruce Cohen, who’s an Oscar winner himself, phoned in Friday morning to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to give us the inside scoop on the upcoming award show, hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco, as well as revealed more on the surprise in store for the “Twilight” Twihard’s will “blow people’s minds” as well!

TwiExaminer Last year there were three Twilight stars to grace the red carpet for the Academy Awards/Oscars. Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner were presenters, while Anna Kendrick was a nominee in the "Best Supporting Actress" category. The year before that, Robert Pattinson served as a presenter.
As you already know, both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have touched down in Vancouver, British Columbia to pick up filming for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, so that rules them out for Sunday's events.
No word yet on whether Taylor Lautner or any other Twilight star will be there, but at least one producer from the Oscars has spoken to the issue of Twilight fans' interest in the show.
In this video link at the 2:00 mark, Bruce Cohen states, "Hey folks, if you are a Twilight fan . . . For all of you Twi-Hards out there, we have a little surprise for you in our show on Sunday night . . . if you like those three films, I have three words for you: watch the Oscars."
No doubt, many shall. The Academy Awards take place on Sunday, February 27th at 8:00 p.m. One of the co-hosts for the event is James Franco, who, you might recall, is an outspoken Twilight enthusiast. There's even a connection between his post as host and his former interest in portraying a Breaking Dawn character . It should be interesting to see what they drum up for this! (Note that Bruce Cohen is the same guy who brought Franco on board for the job.)

She also gave a pretty great turn as Joan Jett in "The Runaways" earlier this year and has an impressive resume that has built up goodwill with roles in "Into the Wild," "The Yellow Handkerchief" and "Adventureland."
Con: The problem is the movie's distributor may not send out screeners (a big need for this one) and there's that "Twilight Saga" elephant in the room. She might need that series to be over before she's taken seriously again by the industry.
