In Spring 2012 there will be screening of the dramatic picture Bel Ami based on the novel of Guy de Mopassant. This novel is referred to the French literature classics. It was filmed many times, one of which was porno. Although everyone knows this story already, this premiere is being waited with impatience because the main character is played by handsome twilight's Robert Pattinson.

The creators of the film Bel Ami decided not to rewrite clasics and made quite precise adaptation. The main character Georges Duroy - the ex military - vegetates in poverty in midst of luxury Paris. But one day he meets his old fellow Sharles Forrestier who became a journalist. And the new life starts. George can do almost nothing, but he is very attractive and his mind is resourceful. On having new appointments he understands: there is the invisible power in the high society that can help to grow up.This power are wives of rich and powerful men.

In the beginning he has love affair with his friend's wife.Then with the lady from high society Clotilda de Morels. Then with her daughter. And it's her who calls him "bel ami". George's life became the line of mistresses, lie, machinations and calculated marriages.

The director of Bel Ami is englishman Declan Donnellan. Russia knows him thanks to his numerous performances in Moscow artistic academic theatre (MHAT) and in Pushkin's theatre and even in Bolshoy theatre. Declan managed to combine outstanding cast for this film. "Bel ami" Georges Duroy is Robert Pattinson, who is free finally from his vampire saga. He has in movie love affairs with wonderful actresses Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas and so on. Everything was filmed in London and Budapest. But the action is meant to be in Paris.

As Robert Pattinson said by himself, he played amoral Georges with great pleasure because he used to learn French and the novel Bel Ami is one of his favourite books.

Rob: When I read the script, I learned that this character is absolutely atypical to me. Basically, it's a story about the bad guy, who is ready to do bad things to achieve for the sake of his benefit.

Robert is undoubtly lucky - he's accompanied by real hollywood beauties - Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas. And he has an erotic scene with each of them. Unfortunately, one by one, and not all together.

Christina: There's an intrigue and a game in this story, just like in real life. I think, everyone can find themselves in some character.
Kristin: I like this story about the guy, who can rule the women, arrange them around himself as he see fits. I think, that's interesting enough.

There's always rumours about Robert being involved with his co-stars, after every movie's release. That was with Kristen Stewart from Twilight, and then with Reese Witherspoon after WFE. Who will the journalists marry him to this time, since he has three co-stars? We'll see.

We actually did an impossible mission – did an interview with our precious Robert Pattinson and didn’t ask him questions about vampires even once…We managed actually talk with him and not ask about blood, afterlife and Kristen Stewart…We’re in shock…

Briefly coming out of "Twilight" to give "Water for Elephants", the most charming vampire in the world, Robert Pattinson talked with Galina Galkina.

- They say you agreed to participate in the movie "Water for Elephants" only after meeting your partner - Tai the elephant. How did she win you?
Rob: Her trainer asked me "Do you want to see what tricks she can do?" It turns out that Tai can do a parody of a horse and even a chicken! When the trainer asked her to show a horse, she did this "Frrr!" sound. How can you get an elephant to do this? She knows how to play ball and even can make a stand at the forelegs. And I thought, "This is an amazing animal! I was very lucky that I was invited to be in a movie with her!"

- Do you have pets?
Rob: For 18 years I had a dog. She died two years ago. Now I have another dog. I bought it two, no, three days ago.

- Really? What's the breed?
Rob: It's a little puppy, common mongrel. I took it from the animal shelter, he should have been put to sleep today. And now he's going to be my dog.

- How old is he? He cries at night?
Rob: Six months. No, he's very quiet. He hasn't utter a sound. This is very strange (laughs)

- Who do you want to be when you were a child?
Rob: When I was young, I dreamed of becoming a pianist, but later became interested in politics and decided that this was my future. And I decided to become an actor after all (laughs)

- Can you describe yourself in three words?

- Between the filming of "Twilight" and "Water for Elephants" you had to change your hair color - by yourself. Are you ready for other experiments?
Rob: I would really like to play a very fat man. I'd like tO get fat for some kind of role. This is so cool! (Laughs) But at the same time I am afraid that afterwards I can't lose weight and will stay fat man for the end of my life.

- And were you ever on a diet?
Rob: Yes (laughs) It's awful. I will need a diet soon because I have to appear without a shirt in one scene (laughs)

- I heard that you played Reese Witherspoon son in "Vanity Fair"?
Rob: Yes, it was my first role

- How interesting! And now you're playing her lover. At this pace she will soon play your daughter!
Rob: (laughs) And I am - her mother!

- Reese said that you laughed a loT on the set. When were you laughing for the last time?
Rob: I was shooting the final "Twilight" movie and I had to fight with another character. It's still stands before my eyes, how funny he did one move (tries to show it, sitting on a chair). - At the beginning of the film "Water for Elephants" Jacob is ninety years old, he lives in a nursing home. What do you think you'll be doing in, say, not seventy, but at least thirty years?
Rob: In thirty years I will be 54. I have no idea.

- Yes, when you're young time passes so quickly. But there's a lot of rumors about the end of the world. What do you think about this?
Rob: I'd like to think that the real threat of the end of the world will arrise when i'll still be alive, and then we'll all have to move to another planet (laughs). I really want to live on another planet. But in reality, this does not necessarily have to be the end of the world, so I hope all this does not happen.

What is the most romantic thing you've ever done?
Rob:Hmm One time I put a rose in a girl's locker.( Laughing) I think that was the most romantic thing I've done in my life. I was like twelve then

- There are always rumours about you having a romance with Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson. With what actress/singer would you like to have a rumored romance or you would be pleased to learn that you have a rumored/alleged romance with? 
Rob: Hmm .. There is nothing good about these rumors (laughs). I'm trying to remember someone interesting, but no one comes to mind. Maybe someone, like .. No, nothing comes to mind. Sorry.

Edward thinks he doesn’t deserve to live at all, he would like to stop to be antisocial and do something in life. He is not an anti-hero, he is a super hero but he doesn’t admit it. He is happy to have powers, but in a hundred years he had never done anything for other people. Edward would like to be a person like any other, and hates himself because he is a freak.

How you were as a student
I was a boring guy, an average guy.

You wrote and sung a song in the twilight soundtrack. How did it happened?
I played that music once in my house in London with two friend of mine. After 6 months I ve listened again to that music and I wrote lyrics… but this is a long story that it ended in the Twilight soundtrack.

So, acting is your profession and music is something for your self?
You can’t be an actor for yourself only

Do you worry about people could say about your music? What hurts you more? critics about your music or your acting?
As an actor you have to live with criticism. I want to know what people think about my music but they can be influenced by bad criticism, but, in the end this is not very important because I think I’ll never sell my music.

You have a scene in the movie that you love most?
Bella feels guilty after she kissed Jacob. Edward is understanding. It is a beautiful moment. Maybe is the only scene in which I would say he is a good guy, not anyone is capable of that. In the prevoius movies he always took decisions for him and for Bella and for the first time he leaves her a choice, because he wants desperately to be with her, so he waits for her. He has only to wait for her coming back

You are the romantic vampire, your enemy is a wolf with abdominals. A strange contrast.
It’s funny to think that I should have abdominals too, if you refer on books. But I’ve not ever presented myself at the trainings.

Would you ever fight for a woman?
Surely yes, but not for love, maybe for pride

Edward thinks as a man of a hundred years ago. You agree with him about premarital sex? what moral do you follow for yourself, the present one or 1900′s?
The present one

So you agree with sex before marriage?
I think everyone does it (laughs). It had always been this way, and people who doesn’t admit it are hypocrite. They have to show themselves as virgins because you have to say it

You said that this movie (Eclipse) is sexy despite sex. What is sexy for you?.
The waiting. The moment you fear that the other doesn’t want you, and you don’t know if there will be something more. fear enhances desire.

How do you feel to work with Kristen again?
It is much easier and much difficult at the same time.Kristen is such a serious actress and she pushes me to act as my best. She has a faster mind, I have to think more than her. She loves to tell her opinion on my work and sometimes she makes me angry.

Does she oblige you to repeat scenes to act them in a better way?
Oh yes, she goes straight to the director saying “Let’s do it again”. Hopefully it doesn’t happen so often.

And If you ask her the same thing ?
She would kill me.

You are working a lot now, have you still time to see soccer?
I put a vcr on when I can. If it should be possible I would have turn on the tv behind you

What is for you your ideal day?
My ideal day is here at Los Angeles, take a car and go to mountains, see nature, I don’t need anything more.

You don’t seem to appreciate all this attention around you. Do you fear negativity?
I fear unexpected events. I make interviews only if are about movies and I have not an irregular life at all. So anything you read about me are inventions. you have to be always prepared to unexpected events

So in life there are more bad things than good things?
Yes, but who cares about bad things? Everyone wants to know only bad things about you.
