@anahita Aww but Rooney was really good as Lisbeth, I was actually rooting for her. But there's really no competition with Queen Meryl being in the roster. Viola was good, too. :)
I was at my parent's house for Sunday dinner and when they came on - all eyes were on me! I was so excited!!
Out of all the romantic films, the fact that the Oscars chose to feature Twilight as one of the only two movie kisses in the montage is really saying something! Take that every media/internet type that likes to dump on Twilight! I predict years down the road we will be hearing the words Twilight and Classic in the same sentence!! Cause love it, or hate it, swoon over it or make fun of it, but make no mistake it will go down in the history books as one of the most romantic (and successful) love stories of modern times. And that my friends is largely thanks to Rob & Kristen. Their talent, their commitment and their white hot Chemistry!!
Anahita: The honor of the nomination should've gone to Kristen for WTTR but soon enuf we'll see our girl up there. Thumbs up to Meryl!

Was watching live too. And literally got up and squealed. The oscars were fantastic! I too was rooting for Rooney mara for best actress but meryl was great too in te iron lady so I wasnt too upset. Hope to see rob and kris at the next oscars!
I only read the GWTDT series because I thought Kristen was gonna do the movie,Lol,but I really enjoyed the books anyway but I still like Noomi better,sorry Rooney....gosh,strange names.
Ooooooooohhhh to see our FAV couple after Titanic made me feel so proud of them,I only hope they get recognised for their achievements next year,Rob and Kristen should be presenters at these Awards and I can think of a few categories the Saga could be nominated...

I saw it, and was like, awwwww Titanic...swoooon.....then saw R/K and screamed! See, epic, Oscars had to even make note to it. IT was an epic kiss "That started this whole, uh......thing." :) Makes it even better dosn't it!
PS! I saw Peter F. at the Mercadez Benz after party, no ring, no wifey...I'm not one that if I don't see a ring, am all, there's a problem! I don't always wear mine cuz my skin breaks out, but.... have heard, and read...hope all is well for them.
My favorite things about the Oscar broadcast were seeing Rob and Kristen in this montage.
Along with seeing Christian Bale :) because he has been a longtime fav of mine.
Favorite wins were the awesomeness and wonderfulness that is Jim Rash winning for Adapted Screenplay.
I love him. Dean Pelton owns my heart.
And Bret McKenzie winning filled my little heart with joy as well. He is equally as awesome.
I love Jean Dujardin and I want him to read me a bedtime story in French ;)....but knowing he was going to take it made the win a little less thrilling as a fan but I am still very happy for him!

yes you are right S. she is good as Lisbeth,but dunno why but think that role was FOR Kristen and some how she and her talent and acting abilities was underrated by giving that role to RM,yeah Meryl and Viola are great I love them esp Meryl and I'm so happy that she won "again" lol.
Oh wow, how cool is that! I am so proud to be a Twilight/R&K fan, even if loads of my friends and family think I'm mad, they don't get it, they just don't know what they're missing! I'm so grateful for you all here on the same page as me, literally ha! I wonder if R&K saw this and what they thought if they did??

Every time you post my mind tells me sth like: 'oh, there she is, Lindsay, Kristen's friend.' That's so weird, I know. It's like, 'I really need to read carefully what she says because she could be her friend Lindsay and I should pay special attention to what she says in her posts!'

@Anahita I just didn't equate the Lisbeth role so much with Kristen bec it was all just hearsay anyway. Mainly because Hollywood was speculating due to her connection with David Fincher (Panic Room). And back in 2010 to early 2011 Kristen was very committed to finishing the Twilight Saga, with 2 movies back-to-back, it would be impossible for her to commit to another franchise that was fast-tracking production at that time. Not to mention commit to a very demanding role. Oh another thing we're not even sure if it was srsly offered to her. lol

ahhhhhh Meryl is indeed the queen, brilliant performance.
That kiss was the best moment of the whole Oscars! My heart swallowed when that came from the tv. Aww. The most memorable Edward/Bella kiss at the beginning of the deep love story. Makes me think, I'm gonna watch Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse...
About the awards, I enjoyed watching them. Oh those lovely, lovely dresses on the red carpet. And Meryl finally got her third Oscar. Rooney Mara was extremely shining in her role in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I'm so happy she got to be nominated with so many talented actresses.

I couldn't believe it,when I saw the sweet kiss from the first Twilight film in the montage. I'm proud of the Academy for recognizing Twilight as one of the most romantic films of all time. It helps immensely by the real-life love of Rob and Kristen,to bring that scene to life. On a side note,I'm so happy The Artist won best director,actor and Picture. It's a really cool film.

I love all the comments that you made and really proud that the part " That started this whole,uh.....thing", which i think was one of Rob's sweetest words, received a special highlight during the show, am i right? They are still young but talented just the same and one of these days the fruits of their labor will also be recognized by the academy cuz Robsten RULES!!!

So, Rob and Kristen didn't go to the VF after-party after all. They prefered to watch the ceremony at home. Good for them.

It was so nice to see Kristen's beautiful face during the Oscars show - if only for a brief moment. Her lips are so luscious in that kissing scene. The highlight of the evening for me :)

Him: (Chuckles when the prom scene comes on after Titanic & says) "Are they there? Have you seen them yet??"

I'm still smiling just imagining R&K high-fiving or fist-bumping over it.
So the more I think about this epic moment in the movie and Rob's comments it got me wondering if during the dialogue Bella tells Edward that she wants to be with him forever, it was a subliminal message from Kristen to Robert that at that point in time she chose to be with him - that is what started this whole...thing!(sorry just my crazy imagination running away with me)

I HATE that they put THE EXORCIST in there, not going to lie, I have been trying to get that image of her face out of my head since I watched it when I was WAYY to young to watch it (around 11) and they just go and put a clip.. I am a little traumatised. Lol
But back to the Twilight kiss.. I don't know what it is that makes the first Twilight so special for me, especially the prom scene. It's just sooo romantic and tortured (I think in real life knowing how much they were pining for each other as well) It will always be my favourite film, and maybe kiss- although the wedding kiss is a contender... and who know's what BD2 will bring ;)
God morning my dear friends.Before i jet for the day i just want to say and imentioned this on another site I want to share that seeing this little montage appear out of nowhere not only made up for that disatrous spoof last year but it also really really made me feel great, because i felt like they were finally starting to pay some type of respect for the twilight saga by putting in this cute lovely scene. i mean yes its not the type of film to be favored from the Academy and im glad about that. But i think even they cannot deny that the twilight saga is indeed one of the most popular, enduring, memorable films of our time because of our devoted fanbase, and how it introduced the world to some really amazing actors including our robert and kristen without the twilight saga we would never know who they are. Everything happens for a reason. An d i think like most of you know the first twilight fim is indeed a classic favorite bc it was the one who stareted it all, it was beautiful, well directed, it had soem of our most favorite but important moments in the franchise like the bedroom kiss, the meadow, the prom dance and the lovely lullaby, and it has that whimsical indie feel to it, i mean yes it had some really controversial deviations but that doesnt matter. Even though breaking dawn part 1 was wonderful too the first will still be the most memorable one ever. And best of all on behalf on all the bella/edward admirerprs and bc this is a robsteain site there was less wolves. hee hee but anyway im raelly grateful and glad that the oscars contributed respect for twiligth and put it in there.thanks :)
Okay guys, with all this talking about Twilight you make me want to watch it NOW. When I can't, of course.
Me daydreaming: I am in a huge theatre room with lovely Robstenation girls and boys and S and we all enjoy Twilight on the biggest screen ever built and we all giggle and aww and doubleaww and tripleaww and melt and sigh and by the time we reach the great prom scene (people will talk about it in a hundred years' time) we are just so emotional we genuinely cry and smile like the big fans that we all are.

Just watched 'the oscar highlights' (a summary of a german tv station) and hoped that they would talk about the montage but they didnt :(
BUT at the end they mentioned that the twilight couple didn't take place at an after party, but that they were at a pre party :) even if they laughed about their dress :( i was so happy they mentioned them :)

Well I'm glad they were there even in this smallest of fashions ( I love that kiss). I did not watch the Oscars yesterday I did not really feel excited about any of the films that were nominated this year.
The Artist totally went under my radar I never heard of it until it was nominated, guess we all know what I'm focusing on. Was it widely distributed? We have a pass to go to the movies for free, so we go A LOT, but never heard of this one, and I go to a theater with 30 screens.

I couldn't watch AcademyAwards because of school but my mum watched it. And I can't believe that she didn't tell me that they showed the prom scene. I just asked her and she said:" Ahhh yeah there was a scene from ur movie...from Twilight." I just watched it and I am squealing like mad right now:) This scene is so emotional it makes me all sappy:') Awww! I remembered the old days;)

When I first saw it last night, I was happily surprised. It’s thrilling to see Twilight amongst all those other great movies. That was one of the most beautiful E/B scenes of the whole series. The Oscar producer is savvy and has good taste. He created that movie montage to not only showcase old classics, but also soon-to-be classics that the general population can relate to. I’m sure Rob and Kristen were stoked to see it too. Rob’s Dad is probably ecstatic, because there was also a Jaws segment, and I remember Rob talking about his Dad relating all movies back to Jaws!

I saw ABC doing coverage at the SOHO House, and I was like, please, please, please..... Anyone else watch the after party coverage by them, and saw their coverage mistake of the camera being one without anyone knowing and the Fbomb was dropped lol
They were recognized after all! thanks to the academy...that's a good start though...how i love that part of the first twilight that's DEF the start of everything...bye for now, i'm off for work...

Didn't see the Oscars, but LOVE that kiss gif! Awesome it was chosen for the montage. Yes, that is QUUUUITE a kiss. Now I'll always think of Rob saying that dance scene is his favorite memory from the saga, and that it "started it all". Oh yeah!
oh, ITA @intruth & Rob was so adorable saying that!....I was SO routing for Rooney Mara too...loved her alot in GWTDT...hubs&I agreed she was perfect as Lisbeth...she & Daniel Craig nailed it together...hope they do a second one!....Very happy for Meryl though; I've always loved her...I'm believing for one of these years that R&K will each be handed "The Golden Man",lol or Oscar as it's best known! )**( //||\\
Hey All! Didn't comment earlier but I had the same experience as ANON 9:00am...hubby walked out & I was like, see this is proof that Rob and Kristen are important to film history! LOVED that this was the 3rd image choosen...best part of the night for me! They must have been fist pumping!
I am really really proud to be a Twilight fan when watching this! It is shown together with epic, big movies like Forrest Gump, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Rocky, Jaws, E.T, Titanic and so on! That is amazing!! No Harry Potter, there (just had to mention that part as well, lol!)
